Last night we saw a bright future in the personage of Derek Cruz.
Derek, the son of a pro bassist, comes to Hello Goodbye as if by divine providence. Just when we figured that all was lost and we would never find a suitable muso to fill the McCartney slot, along comes this amicable fellow.
Here is a brief introduction, "in his own write" ...
"I started playing bass when I was 13 have played ever since. I got a guitar for my 13th birthday and started playing that as well. I've been singing professionally since 8 years old in a choir which taught me to read music (and some theory). Through that I learned how to play piano by ear and a small amount of classical training. I started playing bands right away. I've been countless bands, toured the US in two of them. Have gone to England on tour. Have record countless E.P.'s and L.P.'s. Have some session work under my belt as well as being a backing musician for a band for about 7 years."
We are extremely pleased to announce that we have brought Derek into the fold to become a signature part of the band and look forward to a fun filled future with this formidable musician, who positively "wowed" us at last night's audition and he's a damn nice laddie as well (always a plus).
