Hiya!

Sitting here with a cup of espresso, with the ’Love Is The Song We Sing’ box from Rhino spinning loudly out in the living room... 4 cd’s of San Fransisco underground nuggets. Disc 2 RULES big time with a solid set of master tape transfers from local garage/punkadelic SF/Bay Area bands like Oxford Circle, Teddy & His Patches etc etc. Killer stuff with incredible sound. The other discs also include a lot of greatness (like early Country Joe & the Fish and stuff like that), but somewhat more mixed with the more expected hippie dreck. And why they had to include Janis ’Mercedes Benz’ is a huge mystery to me, as it’s not only one of the worst pieces of shit ever released on a record but also completely outta place timewise... oh well that’s what the skip function is for :-)

Anyhow - right NOW The Maggots are working on material for a new album for Wicked Cool Records! We are actually really psyched as the stuff we’re coming up with is so fun to play and we got the feeling that we will deliver a solid set of songs for the next record!

And - next Saturday everybody in Paris who’s in for a good time and dig their garage rock’n’roll with a swing and a groove shoud head over to La Mechanique to party with us, The Mourning After and great dj’s. We haven’t booked many gigs for the spring cause of work with new stuff, but we had to take this weekend off. It’ll be our first time in Paris and we hope for a good turnout.

See ya’ll!
