Hey Vietnam, 
first of all, i LOVE you guys and had an amazing time in Hanoi for the Hennessy Artistry concert. THANK YOU!

I seem to have caused a bit of a commotion by mentioning the Bao Thy cover of my song The Show at the press conference last week.
To clarify, i don't know much about this girl, only what my fans have told me and how upset they are about it.
Personally, i love the idea of people doing covers. I even printed sheet music of The Show to help people learn the song better! However, usually when people do a cover, they write the name of the song-writer and give them credit for their creativity... For example, with my own cover versions of Modest Mouse, M. Ward and The Zombies, i always mention these artists when i play the songs.

I'm really sorry if i offended anyone about my remarks, and i hope that in the future everyone can enjoy music together and be fair about it. I respect other artists creating music and i just hope for that respect in return.

Dear Lenka,
you don't have to feel sorry for anything because you did nothing wrong. I think you should take necessary action against Bao Thy because she covered your song without consent and even claim that she bought the copyright and allowed to translate to anything she wants.

1st of all i'd like to say that you didn't offend anyone in this incident. Bao Thy used your song illegally and she didn't even write the original song title, as well as artist of The Show. She just simply put
Lyric: Bao Thy
Music: International
That's all. She took all the credits without your consent. This act must be condemned.

She even claimed that the song she covered was for charity purposes only and no other intentions. However, if u visit this page, where people sign to agree that you should sue her, you will see Bao Thy's song appears on album cover and is ready for sell.

Seriously, she didn't even give you any credit at all, doesn't mention Lenka, or even the original name of the song. Well, i'm so through with that, she doesn't deserve the title artist, and i don't listen to her music anyway!

Hello Lenka,
First of all, you did not offended anyone in this incident. Bao Thy is a scandalous Vietnamese artist and she was already famous with lots of scandals very similar to what I called "Lenka vs. Bao Thy" scandal. So no matter what you said in the press conference, things like this will probably happen sooner or later. As a Vietnamese, I don't want to ask you or any famous artists whose songs are covered by Bao Thy to sue her. However, on the other hand, I want someone to give her a bitter lesson on respecting the copyright laws so she won't break it again and other VNmese artists will look at her as an example for what not to do.
I'm not a crazy fan of yours (I think). But I like The Show and Trouble is a friend very much. I was very upset knowing that the Hennessy show was not in Hochiminh City :D. Maybe next time, huh?? :D Ah, by the way, I will buy your original album in Singapore since it's hard to get an original copy in VN.

Dear Lenka,

Firstly, I'm really sorry about that SHAMELESS Bao Thy. All the thing you do is right, no doubt about it!

Your song was illegally covered by that person. I don't want to call her a "singer", she is not qualify to be called a singer. Your song was covered under  a titile "Thiên thần trong  truyện tranh" which means "Angel in cartoon"??  It's Lyrics  is also lame! It's a burden to your song! There is nothing relevant to the original song except the stealed rhythms.

I am a Vietnamese people, and I'm ashamed which all the thing she and the other "karaoke singers" do. It's stealing, definitely stealing. It's not the only song she steals from others singers. She has been doing that thing lots of times before "The Show". I can give you examples:

This is just some of those shameful things she has done.

Before you came, she has been convincing people that she bought every single song that she covered. After you came, that shameless person said on the news paper that *she did not do anything wrong* and * she feels normal if Lenka does not know about her cover * eventhough she claimed over a hundreds time that she had bought you song. And she believed that you will never ever dare to sue her because she do nothing wrong!

At last Lenka, please teach her a lesson! Because you are very generous, If you don't want to sue such a shameless burglar, please at least warn her once!

She's not so intelligent, so she won't stop it if noone warns her. Please, only you can stop that shamless person! We -  the Vietnamese Will support you to the end!


At last, i want to thank you for your wonderful music. And please don't hate us - Vietnamese for this, she is just a bug of our nation.

well, in Vietnam, there is lots of singers, EX: Bao Thy, but she not really a good singer. I'm a vietnamese too, but I don't like bao thy or someones in vn. i think there's somethin' not true about 'em. she's stealing every good songs out of vn!!! I hate her!!. Can't she stop???????????

Hey Lenka! Im your fan in Suoth of Vietnam. Its a pity that you couldnt come to Saigon and perform, but i hope you could in someday. SOON!
Btw, Im really sorry for what bao Thy did to your song and we, all vietnamese fans are mad at it too! And if you ever know what she did to your original song lyric, you would be very depressed too! She change the whole meaning of the song to some ridiculious teenager's love.

I'm a fan from vietnam, and I also did a cover of "The Show" at my school's talent show. I love you and I didn't have a chance to see you yet, but I hope one day you'll visit Vietnam again and hopefully it'll be Ho Chi Minh City where I live.
About Bao Thy, she covers ALOT of international songs, and no one, and I believe not even her, knows that the songs are legalized or not.
I'm glad that you like our country. Please come back again sometime soon in the future.

Wow, I wish I was back in Vietnam when you were there!
It would be so nice to speak to someone in English once in awhile over there!
I'm a Vietnamese girl living in America, and I loved "The Show" when I first saw the music video on MTV. You're such a creative artist!

Anyways, I just wanted to say that, Bao Thy brings nothing but shame to us Vietnamese now. The only reason she's famous because the "teens" and grown adults that think they're still 18, think Bao Thy's voice is 'cute'. As for other Bao Thy fans, they like listening to foreign music in their own native language.
I dislike Bao Thy and the fans that continue to support her for the wrong reasons. On behalf of all the Vietnamese, I'm really sorry that Bao Thy didn't credit you. =[ You're probably a good person and don't deserve that. You have no reason to apologize. And I'm sure....

As a Vietnamese I feel very shame when i heard that news. How can she does not feel anything when you did not even know she covered your song? I am sorry if this hurt your felling but, I listen to "Thien than trong truyen tranh" first and then, my friend send me your song, "The Show". Although those have the same melody, but the way Bao Thy sings it is different from yours. You should give Bao Thy a lesson. She will never stop if no one stops her. So please, only you could stop her. This is not the first time she covers songs. I think two years ago, she cover the song name "Button - Pussicat Dolls", and many more. So please!!!

First off, I love your music Lenka. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Hanoi.

Second, to all the VietNamese fans that are accusing Bao Thy of stealing music and such, I admit, I'm not a fan of hers nor do I even listen to her, but in this situation, I don't think it's the girl's fault. She did give credit to Lenka and if you so-called VietNamese (the ones that can at least still read VietNamese) actually check on daily Viet news, you would know that in releasing this song, Bao Thy did give plenty of credit to Lenka in her interviews. And it was afterall for a good cause. It's not that I'm defending her, it's just the truth. I've read a bunch of interviews regarding the scandal and Bao Thy even brought out proof that she asked the department of tourism & sports to get permission and paid for it plus each performance she did of the song (which is only about 3? @ Miss Teen 08, May Trang Liveshow, and something else). Asian Antis are notorious for going overboard on such matters anyways. And like I said before, I'm not on her side. I just think she's getting too much publicity she doesnt deserve.

 You should know that Bao Thy also covers tons of English songs, actually we can say that she steals the background music of these songs and put her own lyrics in to make them hers. I know you don't wanna sue her but at least, pls do sth to stop her from covering songs of the others without permission. sooo that's just what i think and you know, ill respect ur decision. We're just trying to let you know the truth with no mean. We just got angry about what she said to us. You know, after you said about your feeling in the meeting, BT said she has all the copyright. Your name was on the list of copyright but she didn't mention about you as a official singer of THE SHOW. We are really sorry about Bao Thy.I think she owes you an apology.I don’t want to say any bad about Bao Thy bacause she embarrassing Vietnam….But you know, when she readed what you wrote above,she is happy!She stole many songs,even a piece of music Canon in D of Pachelbel. We ‘ve been                                hoping you would do something to punish her.I can’t bear her anymore.I felt very sad when I listened the songs she stole.You don’t need to sorry and SHE HAS TO APOLOGIZE TO YOU!Oh,have you listened that song in Vietnamese?I promise that the lyric of Thien than trong truyen tranh(The Angel in comic)It’s really ridiculous and vain!She is happy when you feel sorry???You are toooo gentle!….You ‘re a big star and who is she?She is nothing with you!
