I wondered if motherhood would cease being so awesome when the newness wore off. Nope. Still awesome.

Mind you, it does not hurt that I clearly have the best child ever to exist. (Shush. I do.)

She's getting very into hugging lately. And she says 24 words. Today's words were "purple" and "butt." (My fault-- I was checking for stinkiness and I said, "C'mere, let me smell your butt." That resulted in, "Butt, butt, butt, butt!")

The rest of my life is frankly pretty lousy right now, which makes me extra glad that this little person tosses her arms around me and drools on my shoulder. Some days, I still can't believe I get to keep her.

Our children grow up so fast and before you know it they are doing their own thing, so enjoy all those special little firsts and just hanging out together. You're building a lifetime of special little memories...

When my eldest was just beginning to talk his favorite book was "Green Eggs and Ham". The only problem was, he really couldn't pronounce the letter "S".

One day, Grandma was watching the little darling and he kept insisting that she needed to read his "Sam Book." Except what she was hearing him say was: "Damn book, Gramma, read my damn, book."

Yup. That awesomeness just NEVER goes away. Having those little arms to hug you at day's end after all the bad stuff in real life is just so blissfull. She's definitely growing up to be a wonderful little girl! More wonderful than she is now! :)

Since I have all boys, I have no doubt you have the greatest daughter to ever exist! (Smiles)

My eldest son's first word was "Pizza"- like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Well, he kind of babbled mamamama dadada. But Pizza was so distinct.

Sorry to hear the rest of your life isn't keeping pace with motherhood. I hope that changes for you soon.
