Trouble the Water is now showing on HBO check your listings. An incredible new movie is out, and I wanted to make sure you knew about it. I watched the film and was amazed at all the thing that went on that we as a country did not know about. This couple are true heroes and survivors not just from Katrina but from our government. NO DISRESPECT TO ANYONE IN THE MILITARY THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW ORDERS EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW AND FEEL IT'S WRONG. They started recording everything they could before, during and after the hurricane. They were the only ones that recorded as the hurricane came and left from a victim and survivors stand point. They could not afford to leave when the city was evacuated. Our government did not provide a way out for low income residents of New Orleans therefore they were left to die or survive on their own. Many did die and some was even left inside hospitals and Nursing Homes to die. (They were never evaucated from these places and was alive before the flood)

Show this city some support by going to the website and send a letter to congress so this tragedy will never happen in the so called great America.

Academy Award-nominated "Trouble the Water" tells a story of one extraordinary family's survival of the flooding of New Orleans after Katrina, and their journey into a new life. And how they and others were treated by our government.

P.S. Many of you have asked about getting your own copy of Trouble the Water. Zeitgeist Films is releasing the consumer DVD this summer; we'll let you know as soon as it's available.

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, this astonishingly powerful documentary is at once horrifying and exhilarating. Directed and produced by Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine producers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal, Trouble the Water takes you inside Hurricane Katrina in a way never before seen on screen.

The film is executive produced by Danny Glover and Joslyn Barnes of Louverture Films and introduces the music of Black Kold Madina. The US distributor is Zeitgeist Films.

Trouble the Water opens the day before the storm makes landfall—just blocks away from the French Quarter but far from the New Orleans that most tourists know. Kimberly Rivers Roberts, an aspiring rap artist, is turning her new video camera on herself and her 9th Ward neighbors trapped in the city. “It’s going to be a day to remember,” Kim declares. As the hurricane begins to rage and the flood waters fill their world and the screen, Kim and her husband Scott continue to film their harrowing retreat to higher ground and the dramatic rescues of friends and neighbors.

The filmmakers document the couple’s return to New Orleans, the devastation of their neighborhood and the appalling repeated failures of government. Weaving an insider’s view of Katrina with a mix of verité and in-your-face film making, Trouble the Water is a redemptive tale of self-described street hustlers who become heroes—two unforgettable people who survive the storm and then seize a chance for a new beginning.
