i traveled up to the west of thailand. took a train to kanchanaburi to see the tiger temple....left the next day as it wasnt a good time of the month for me to be petting the king of the jungle. didnt want to get eaten. so I hopped a bus to Thong Pha Phum, a super small village a few hours north. I had been fighting a head cold since bangkok and was hot and miserable by the time I got there. so I rented a motorbike and drove an hour out of the village in search of the river and hotsprings. thought it would help my cold to soak. got to the hot springs a few hours later and it began to downpore. I soaked for an hour and then, realizing it wasnt going to let up, hopped back on the motorbike and rode in the wind and rain an hour back to the village. I froze my freakin ass off. my fingers and toes were actually knumb by the time i got to my guest house. put on warm clothes...pants and a sweatshirt....thats a first in a while....the restaurant at my guest house didnt seem to serve food...all i wanted was some hot soup to warm me up. I talked the girl into making me tea. my head was pounding and I was freazing. I was to cold to venture into the streets to find food so i just went back to my room and crawled in bed. the next morning still feeling like shit...I hiked through the village and up a super steep hill to a hilltop temple. beautiful, though I thought i was going to die on the trip up. it was raining and sleepery. i hadnt eaten the day before nor that morning...not a good idea....i just prayed that i wouldnt faint and topple down the mountain to my death....got back to the village..couldnt find any place to eat...so opted for a cup of esspresso, which threw me over the edge....now what the hell is an espresso machine doing in the middle of a village when you cant even get a decent breakfast. ..... I left for Sanklaburi, feeling even worse.... the ride to Sanklaburi was freakin amazing. breathtaking. got there, the sun was out so i rented a bicycle and cruised across the lake on thailands longest wooden bridge...a bit shakey and scarey.....three different tribes from Burma have villages there. checked them out as well as the temples there. really beautiful. then it began to pour..again i was stuck in the rain....and a cold rain...finally made it back to the guest house and they actually had hot soup...thank the lord....aahahahahaha....the first time I had eaten in a couple of days....seriously....the next day ,i was still sick and felt like I had the worst hangover, and i hadnt even drank in days. i stopped and talked to an american man who ran a book shop. the day I arrived I had gotten eaten up by mesquitos on my bike ride...this man had told me to be careful as dengue fever was really bad in that area..so i stopped to ask him the symptoms...he seemed to think that i had it as i had broken out in a rash..one of the symptoms, and seemed to have all the rest of em.... fatigue..fever, chills, body aches, my head felt like it was gona explode... and I felt like I had poison in my system.. anyway..I still went on and rented a motorbike and went to the Burma border, hung out for the day there in payara&^%$%$^*?....cant remember what the hell the name of the town is....but the most beautiful area I have seen in Thailand/ Burma. again got caught in the freakin rain...by the time I had gotten back into Sanklaburi I was so weak I couldnt even hold the motorbike up while putting down the kickstand. I dropped the bike and couldnt get it back up. ahahahaha..freakin crazy. guess it would help if i just chilled out for a few days....but I just cant sit still...Im not one to sit still when Im sick....
