man, did I have a great weekend. Friday night, got to see Heidi do her thing at a cool performance space in Greenpoint. Very cool dance performance with a live band accompanying the dancers. Awesome stuff...Heidi's got moves! afterwards, we ate at this very cool south african restaurant in ft. greene. Had a stew, but not the Durban Mutton Bunny Stew that I really wanted. Saturday night was Renee's (and Genevieve's) birthday party, and that went on til the wee hours of 5am. Sunday, I had the priviledge of recording in Ryan Ball's studio for the upcoming Afroskull album. We tracked the hammond organ and clavinet parts. It went smoother than any recording session I've ever done. The hammond I played on was a CV... dating back to the 1940's. An absolute beauty. Oh, to hear that leslie spinning in the headphone mix... couldn't sleep that night, I was kind of wired from the whole experience. Ryan's got a great setup over there. Check out his site...
