Current mood:  bored

I'm bored doing taxes tonite, so I'll blog a little.  I'm listening to Sheryl Crow's new album, and I like it, but I'm concerned that she might be a little too unhappy these days.  At least she has a son named Wyatt.

Sharnael Wolverton is here at GB this weekend.  We like her.  She had a women's meeting/lunch today, but I didn't go.  I was doing tax returns, and besides, I'm not a woman.  Em did the P&W 'cos she's here from ENMU this weekend.  All on the webcast.

Had a nice dinner with Claudia at Landry's.  We usually don't go out on Saturday nites, but she's not preaching tomorrow, so we had a little time tonite.

Daytona is one week away. YAY!

I'm thinking about buying a new 4-string bass.  Fender Precision Highway One (like my old '71 Precision that I never should have sold) or a black Fender Aerodyne Precision?  Whaddya think?  I'd really like to find a nice Reverend Rumblefish bass, but none on E-Bay at present.

How's that for unabashed rambleness??

try amazon. Hauke just got me a guitar, and amp. Its a no-namer but it looks cool, and I read reviews and they said its the best European no namer.
I need an effects petal. I need it to sound like hardcore, or just really powerful metal. I emailed you asking you which one to suggest. Maybe ask the "triplets" and Ethan?

I need one this week. I am so nervous about our show. I have no ideas. I don't know how we are going to pull it off. We checked out all of our competition. We are the only ones in our Genre. "Electronic/Industrial" is what they have categorized us. We need to make a playlist, let alone LEARN the songs and come up with a stage act. Any ideas or prayers would be gladly appreciative!

I didn't know Sheryl had a son named Wyatt. How cool!

yeah poor Sheryl. You can tell she wrote a lot of during her break up with lance and the cancer stuff she was going through. I can't wait for racing to start, especially since football is over. I have nothing to watch on sunday's! Other than the web casts in the AM!! You should try overstock.com they have really random stuff on there all the time. I've never looked for instruments on there though. I haven't had Landry's in years. We don't have one here. We do have a Joe's Crab shack...same thing since it's owned by the same company I suppose. I love your ramblings, keep em up!

Look at it this way, Sheryl. What if, instead of Crow, your last name was Duck? How many albums would Sheryl Duck sell? And talk about depressing, I bet neither Donald or Daffy would date you.

Or maybe your name would be Squirrel. Or Skunk. Or Tomato Worm. Or barrel. Or booger. Or Poopoohead.

Things could be a lot worse, Miss Sheryl Crow.

Think about it.

I didn't know you sold the 71 Fender Precision. Bummer. Do you still have the Dan Hartman? I have a Fender Music Master short neck bass. It's vintage at this point. I guess like us. I really like the Rickenbacker for Rhythm but the Les Paul is still "the guitar". Good luck on the tax season. I still do my Aunt's taxes in NM. Hope all is well. Heard from Gerard today. He's loving Florida and thinking of getting a fishing boat.
Take care.

Great to hear from you -- still at the office with taxes, listening to the Lobos beat UNLV. Yeah, I sold the Precision a long time ago, just before it started getting valuable, I guess. The clear bass (Dan Armstrong) was stolen along with a bunch of our stuff in '85 (I think). Aside from losing that, it was a blessing in disguise 'cos insurance bought us all new stuff, including a Steinberger bass I still play. A Dan Armstrong reissue is coming out in April I think, so that might be tempting.

Your new band logo is cool in a mythological way! If I ever get back to Balt/DC, I'll find you guys. Tell Gerard "hi"! Where's he living in FL? And a fishing boat? That cracks me up -- so non-New Mexico!

Hey Wy. Gerard is in the Tampa area. He talking about buying a house on the water with a boat dock now. When Dave and I were down there in 04, we rented a boat and Gerard got the itch.

Yeah we went with a logo because we're too old to have our pictures out there. ha ha . Dan Armstrong... I knew it was Dan something. I liked that bass. Bummer that stuff was stolen. By all means looks us up. Had a gig last night that went well. I just don't like being a roadie too. Too old. This band is fun because everyone if fairly normal and reliable and we're really just in it for the fun. We hope to do some recording over the next few months.

Keep in touch, keep helping people keep their money from the IRS, and congrats on being a Grandfather. Please tell your parents I said hello.

BTW I finally did buy another bass -- a '62 Fender re-issue hybrid kinda thing. It's beautiful and it plays great. Just like me!
