I have been too lazy to blog about Jamaica. Or Germany and N. Ireland. But the latest round of false prophecies concerning the presidential election have roused me out of my MySpace slumber.
At this critical juncture of time, why would so many relaible Christian ministers and ministries resort to trying to pass-off soulish wishes as prophetic words from the Lord? Specifically, all of these 'prophecies' regarding McCain winning (he didn't) and words which bear false witness against Obama (I think there's a commandment about that somewhere!) really greive me.
This blog isn't about politics. Or candidates. This blog is about the Body's predelection to add 'thus sayeth the Lord' to their soulish desires and call it prophecy. I suggest that we: 1) 'man up' about the political climate of the times, 2) that we begin to pray prayers that agree with the Word over Obama, McCain, America, the nations and each other, and 3) stop slandering people and blaspheming God with our 'prophecies'. Prophecy is a gift -- not a weapon.
