Let us get our respective perspectives out of the way.
The guitar is but an implement to the total instrument. The music that we compose/perform should, at any rate, be a complete concurrency, a consensus.
The musicians around me should have no doubt in their creative implementation of this; you've carte blanche with the choices of your life, and if you choose to allow music to seize the tremendous opportunity in the continuity of Now, then you shall be doubtless in every note, and convinced that your touch is unique and competent and strong. This is a challenge that is special to our way of doing things, and with good effort, we've made desirable progress as many have said.
Regardless of how little I know of the technical formalities, I believe that I am participating and facilitating a unique tradition, and my position has yet to be fully actualised. What I can do, you cannot. That which I cannot do, that you can, by all means, please do. But consider this: that your decision must be thorough, and for the benefit of the group as a momentous entity. This project must be given its own life, it must be given its own space to stand and walk on its own, and the persons involved in it must allow it and, simultaneously, create it with each other. To do this, we must allow each other safe passage in this relationship.
Concurrency, not compromise. Equilibrium, not bureaucracy. Mutual interdependence, not insecurity.
My ideas, regardless of how effective they might seem to me, are ineffective should anyone of my compeers disagree, to any extent, with any aspect; I've no problem rescinding. I choose to accommodate the chosen task of others in this endeavor, justly. I will not agree with everything, because your ideas -- as much as mine -- need temperance as well, and I will no doubt see things in my own way, but keep in mind, that in this mode, my perspective is concerned holistically, hopefully, as well as yours. My well-being is your well-being, and I hope your consideration is mutual. Saddling each other with directives that either one or many must tolerate to advance creates an environment of subtle hostility and conspiracy. That is the old world.
This project, as you can gather, aims to produce fluidly, generously, and with some semblance of professional grace... if it is to survive beyond its nascent stages. Let us step back for a minute: we are young, we are adventurous, we are spirited. We are also in the midst of crises, great and personal. This affects how we interact not only with each other, but with the world as a collective. In addition, we are in the midst of a great change, of a greater becoming, and quite possibly, a usurpation of the way things are commonly done. The world has created this project, so the world demands and clamors for it, because the world -- who is people -- need it. Let us weather this storm in our friendship. Your freedom is my freedom. Do you dare interfere with what you or I love? Do you dare enter fear with what you or I will? There are right answers. And there is a correct answer.
When I play, I try my best to let loose, yet also reign-in. As you can hear, each of our creative spaces must be realised within us, and actualised amongst us.
Cheers, A.
P.S. Add your two cents, you know the login.
Addendum, cut from the profile's home page: Our music is not the only music. Your art is not within your instrument; your instrument is an implement of your art. Your story, your virtue, your touch is what you bring to it. Discard your egoic cowardice, your one-dimensional sabotage, your in-genuine desire, and your name-tag at the door or bury it in the desert. We can all take the lead, we can all concern ourselves with the essential tasks & priorities, we are all self-managed, we can all perform to the highest aspect of our aesthetic sensibilities, and we can integrate all of that into a forward-moving, ever-evolving, majority/consensus-based project that doesn't chase shadows: do your best... your brothers and sisters are relying upon your right action. The patron has a random/shuffle button now... know that.
