There are way too many movies out there so Eye am just going to mention a few.
Currently and for the past couple of years, The Hours with Nicole as Virginia Woolf... Ed Harris is great as always, not to mention everyone involved. A perfect movie with flawless writing and an amazing soundtrack.
Interstate 60: when in doubt, always do the right thing... buy this dvd a.s.a.p. Hard Candy is an excellent head on session of thin ice with a dramatic twist. Gegen Die Wand uncannily resembles my first relationship in SO many ways.
Walk On Water is a must "sea" and Solaris with cLoony has a stunning soundtrack. The chinese Old Boy is awesome visually and the story is t.f.w.o., watch it!
Other classic flix Eye love: Le Femme Nikita by Luc Besson -best french espionage film in history, period. John Carpenter's They Live (starring Rowdy Roddy Piper) is monumental 80s; A must see for any sci-fi fan (this was one of the very first video tapes Eye ever had.)
Ronin is an all time fave as is Pulp Fiction of course. Reservoir Dogs, King Of New York and Dobermann are very cool too but Smoke rules!
My friend Tonno Rotunno introduced me to an italian production called Cemetery Man, the original title is Dellamorte Dellamore but in Spain they called it Mi Novia Es un Zombie.
Also check out Midnight Express which is a very hard film based on a true story about a young dude caught in Turkey with a belly strap full of smoky chocolate.
