Here is a review of my performance at Paisely Unplugged:
Alright folks
This weekend has been another scorcher in terms of musical talent on display at Paisley Unplugged
On Friday 13th (oooohhhhh) we had the privelege of hosting one of the
best acts we have had at Paisley Unplugged, Steph MacLeod and The Winey
Shuffle. We had had Steph through for a couple of solo sets previously
and we all thought he was awesome THEN. But with The Winey Shuffle,
they have that intangible that makes all great acts stand out when you
hear them. These guys rocked the joint and were well liked by the
audience in attendance and we are sure to have them back. Not to
discount the support act for the night which was Paisley's own Alan
McAuley (or Johnny's Da lol) who made his debut with a stormer of a set
and finished it off with a duet with his daughter Laura, a talented
singer in her own right. All in all, a great night was had by those in
attendance.
On the following Saturday, we had the perfect chillout session to
recover :). Making her Paisley Unplugged debut was Caroline Gilmour
from Edinburgh. Caroline is a smashing girl and very easygoing with the
voice of an angel. Caroline's set was composed of all original material
and she said that she was delighted to have been invited to come and
play and wanted to know if we would have her back at some point (which
we will do). On the same bill was Ramon Ruiz, a singer with a powerful
voice and great guitar playing skills. The man is extremely down to
earth and had nothing but positive things to say about us here at
Paisley Unplugged and he has also spread the word to acts he has
performed on the same bill as that we are the venue to check out and
come play a set at. We cant ask for more than that.
