Riddle me this, oh mighty and wise Espresso Jerk ... Are Italians still allowed to say venti *not* in the context of a drink size? Did Starbuck's patent that word and force them to order by the ounce (or even weirder, 24oz if iced, but still "venti?") even if they use metric? And when will I end up in a hall of mirrors effect, where I can never escape from a Starbuck's - when I use the bathroom, only to find another Starbuck's inside - so I use *that* bathroom, and find *yet another* Starbuck's and so on recursively until I go insane? Maybe before I use the facilities next time I'll tie a rope to myself like they did on Poltergeist.

These are the things that keep me up at night ... it's either that or those venti, nonfat, sextuple light ice lattes ... vicious bastards.

 

I dont think Sbucks has managed to patent "Venti"  Although they did manage to patent the name "Chantico"; which is the name of an Aztec Goddess.  I wish I was rich so I could patent "god" and "jesus".  Think of the royalties I could pull down on Sundays alone.  In downtown Seattle Scot, there are Starbucks across the street from Starbucks.  And the funny thing is, people will go to one, but not the other.

I love you for loving whippits. I too love whippits. Did you know they're the reason for the only time the cops dragged me off to juvie? And that I'm the reason the kitchen stores in Tennessee had to start carding people for them?

P.S. Speaking of whipped cream products... I made dinner (including hot fudge sundae) for John Kerry on Thursday. Reason #4080 that St. Clouds is better than Sport. I may never quit now.
