Some vintage medical instruments and accessories I picked up at an auction this weekend. Now I just need a guinea pig nice person to test some of this stuff on... any volunteers?

Lot of bleeding cups dating from the early 1800s to early 1900s:

A mahogany medical kit from about the mid-1800s. Missing a few things, but nice overall:

A few small medical kits, early 1900s:

An awesome steel trephine kit with extra attachments, from about 1920 or so:

A DeZeng cast iron and brass eye examination tool from 1909:

Four blood letting scarificators from the mid/late 1800s:

Nice haul. I wonder how many limbs that saw has removed. If that stuff could talk...

I wonder if medical equipment can be haunted...

I am absolutely jealous of this astounding collecting that you have picked up.  I adore old medical equipment.

There are many razor sharp blades underneath. You put the device against your skin.
The levers are used to pull back and then quickly release the blades.

I just love that a giant saw was part of a medical kit!

Not too bad, considering. About $1200 for everything, including several items not shown (maybe I'll add those later). Would have paid triple in an antique store, I'm sure.
