Hello y'all...
It's 2 in the morning, and we've just got back from the Harmony Sweepstakes in Alexandria. This was the mid-atlantic group of a national competition for professional A Cappella groups, which we were doing a guest set at. We were all totally blown away by some of the competitors. A Cappella is just so huge over here compared to in England - we've sung with almost 20 fantastic groups since touching down a week ago. Do that many groups even exist in England?
The setting was impressive too. The competition was held at Birchmere, and we trod the stage in the footsteps of people such as Johnny Cash and Ray Charles. If the walls could speak...
Worthy winners of the competition were the DC-based Cartoon Johnny, and OOTB were simply blown away by their set. I insist EVERYBODY reading this goes to
www.cartoonjohnny.com as they deserve to be bigger than any of the manufactured pop rubbish out there at the moment. They are simply awesome...
Anyway, it's bedtime. New day, new state as we're off to New Jersey in about 8 hours. Then on Monday we hit New York
It should be good...
Peace
