This morning, a 28 year old mentally ill man broke into a day-nursery in Dendermonde (Belgium) and without warning started attacking the children and their care-takers with a knife.
Two toddlers and one adult died on site. 13 others, 11 children and 2 adults were severely injured. One of those little ones, a boy, has just passed away at the hospital. The other victims were stabbed several times and their injuries are extremely grave.
A total of 18 children, aged between 0 and 3 years old, and 6 care-takers were present when this horrible event took place.
The perpetrator was spotted early this morning at the train station and in the centre of the city; his face painted white, black eyes and fierce red hair.
Around 10 AM he arrived at the day-nursery by bike. After the massacre took place, he tried to flee the crime scene, again by bike, but got caught a short time after.
His motives are yet unknown. Apparently he has a psychiatrical and justicial past.

I am utterly speechless... My heart goes out to all the victims, their family and friends.
