7 (Goodbye band camp!)
So just got home from the peak performance project and i am pretty glad to be home but not too keen to go to work at 7am tomorrow morning. Yesterday definitely had the vibe of a last day with energy starting to fade, however everyone was in anticipation of the final show which was Bodhi Jones, Danny Echo, Run the Red Light, and Freeflow. In reflection I am quite proud of the bands up in Princeton who all gave it 110% each night. It's a very novel experience playing a show for a small few peers and being adjudicated at the same time. Just watching certain elements of what all these others brought to the stage was a learning experience in itself. What started as a competition became almost more of a community as I think I’ve mentioned before and I even got together with as many of the campers as I could find the last afternoon to play a song I quickly wrote the previous day (you can watch the video here, see below). I see why they play songs like kumbayah at camp cause it certainly is a bonding experience.. Word.
