Hola Amigos.
Been a long time since I rapped at ya, as far as I know I have a new record finally coming out the Sixth of October. It has been a struggle this time, first back and forth to Montreal, which was a gas, but it took so much effort coming and going, back and forth to and from Montreal, a city I love full of people I love. Studio time at the Hotel 2 Tango is a very rare and wonderful thing. At a point of semi-completion I started working at Mike Wisti's Albatross studio which I equally adore for completely different reasons.
My working style can have a lot of contradictions. I can waste time looking for the right compliment to an idea and then suddenly have a creative outburst that needs to be documented right now before it burns up. Making it happen and making it happen on tape and then making it happen on tape with the best sound possible are three different things. It means nothing to be wise if you have bad luck.
Some of the titles you see on the MVD link are songs you have heard for years in some case. Others are brand new even to me. One thing I would like people to do is listen to the new record (yes, there is vinyl coming out) with their whole body, not just their ears. This is a great record to dance to, I am happy to say.
Please check this site for news about a new contest, aw hell, I'll tell you now what it is. There is a song on the record called "Sailor Jack". I would like people to invent their own new dances and send in a clip of any length of them or their friends doing said dance or dances. The entries will be edited together for a video to the song. The trouble is you don't know the song yet. Since the record is due out soon you got to send in your dance footage as soon as possible, the element of chance is what I am looking for. Take a risk, do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight! The winners will get a very nice prize and be in a CON D'OR Records video. Many of todays brightest stars became famous by doing this simple thing! Get your friends involved, hell, get your enemies involved also, then they will be your friends! Looking forward to you hearing the new platter.
