Ms. Dixie & Tom T. wish to alert anyone wishing to support THE DAUGHTERS OF BLUEGRASS’s project, BLUEGRASS BOUQUET for the up and coming IBMA awards that the criteria has changed since we were last in the running for the RECORDED EVENT category. Votes are needed for the song and NOT the entire project. In short, what we need first off the bat, immediately is at least ten nominations ON ONE SONG. If we are not agreed on one song no matter how much support the overall project gets it would not gain any ground because results would be spread throughout the record. The best song choice including the most girls would be PROUD TO BE A DAUGHER OF BLUEGRASS which symbolizes the sentiment. Those wishing to support the project should NOT write in BLUEGRASS BOUQUET. There is no such song so a vote would not count. We should unite on PROUD TO BE A DAUGHTER OF BLUEGRASS.
A category where you can nominate the whole project (Bluegrass Bouquet) would be ALBUM OF THE YEAR.
Daughters would also be eligible in GOSPEL RECORDED PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR. The criteria is NOW nominated by the song. Daughters has three; The acappella- GO UP ON THE MOUNTAIN AND WAIT, The Lewis Family favorite THE OLD FAMILY TABLE & Beth Stevens’ EVERYBODY GOT A LIGHT.
For the SONG OF THE YEAR category-our reportedly most played songs are I DON’T THINK I’M GOING BACK TO HARLAN, PROUD TO BE A DAUGHTER and LEAVING HERE FOR NASHVILLE .
OUR THANKS TO ALL!!!
