So my partner and I live in the reddest, most conservative state in the nation, but there is still an active glbt community here fighting for equal rights! The following is a video of the protest against Prop 8 in Oklahoma City on Saturday, November 15th, 2008.

I'm glad to see it!!! Broken record me will say again--Prop 8s are a blatant violation of the Constitution on several levels.


The news media was really pissing me off yesterday. Some actually asked why gays would protest during this time of national crisis, that we are in the middle of a financial crisis and two wars, and gay marriage was such a trivial issue. It is never a trivial issue when the Constitution is being violated.

It wouldn't be so trivial to them if it were THEIR rights that were being violated. What if we voted to make THEIR marriages illegal? Would they consider that trivial?
