Some describe beauty as watching the sheening and glinting reflections of neon off downtown skyscraper glass. Yes, its pretty, but the sunset over the Fremont salt swamps was a totally natural vision. Except the fact that Carghill created the salt swamps to provide our destitute inland neighbors with the life-giving salts. . Mission Peak was steep, and the barren-yet-green backside of Mt Allison and Monument peak were isolated and desolate. Live oaks dropped their crowns of boney fingers to the earth. The wind gusted – nay, was constant at about 80 kilometers per hour. Lips numb. Cheeks – our walls of the oral cave – frozen. But our eyes, amazed….
