This blog post is to inform those of you who've got your hands on a burned copy of my latest release, "Throw a Line." Thanks, as always, for taking the time to listen and get involved... you're da $@!#!!!!!
This album was recorded primarily on my personal computer in different locations around the country, and, it is by no means perfect. It hasn't been mixed or mastered, so the levels are all different. There are several mistakes in the recordings... but I feel the soul of the songs are intact, and that is all I wanted to achieve. I hope the songs find a place in the music section of your brain... :-) The money you spent buying this from me will go directly toward the recording of my next “real” studio album, which will hopefully happen sometime this year as I make the leap to Nashville.
It is inevitable that some of these discs may be flawed. If so, please email haydenisaac@yahoo.com and I will send some new files to you asap:-)
If you would like to burn this cd for a friend, I encourage you to do so! All I ask is that you please write the info that is written on the cd you purchased onto any cd you burn with this music. Isaac Hayden. "Throw a Line." myspace.com/isaachayden. etc., and keep the word of mouth flowing. Thanks so much!
1. "Shine On" Written by: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: Heidi's place, San Diego, CA
Lyrics: Oh, Oh I want to know What the world looks like when you grow old Cause No, no I just can’t see Anything unless it’s in front of me
Didn’t know it’d feel so right Didn’t know she’d be so fine Didn’t know lighting would strike Broken heart and my best
Friend You’re here again Breaking down so slow now What else did you want to know Shine on feel this warmth now gone All I want to say is it ain’t true I’m here for you
Where, where else could ya be Feels like all these words just don’t retreat And if, if you never try Dreams will fall down and you will die so
Didn’t think you’d understand Didn’t feel your sweet hands Slipping up my back in defense Now she’s gone so am I free? Or did she get the best of me? Just tell me When it’s over And I swear I’ll never come again Broken heart my best friend
2. "Vision of Love" Written by: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: The Porch, Nosara, Costa Rica
3. "Old Headlights" Written by: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: Macleod Street, Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Lyrics: Well I want it all I’ve saved enough to escape I’ve tried so many times To make it through this wave break Packing up this old car Is my only solution I can’t feel the sun Can’t feel the wind on my face Would you like to come We’ll open it up no brakes Can’t you see that my home Is no destination
Turn on these old head lights Start it up and keep the car in drive I got you, you got me We got this just believe We won’t stop until it feels right so Turn on these old headlights
A New York city bar Singing till the sun comes around Old pictures on the wall Point us to the next big town Don't give up Don't give in Don’t stay here in confusion
CHORUS
She don’t want me, she won’t let me out Guess I gotta be the first to run away If you’d follow, we’d never turn around Around
And if we break down Or we lose sight of the truth Don’t ya worry love, I’ll be right here waiting for you If the world stops to turn well Don’t you cry
4. “Painted Red” Written by: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: The Green Basement, Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Lyrics: Another leave falls down to the ground Making it’s mark without making a sound The yellow and green remind me of you The colors in your eyes would change with the sky Long grass stop to lie Down in the fields of our youth Never could recall the things that you said Never can forget the way that you felt I’ll never stop believing in you
The moon hangs low and shines down so Through these leaves all painted red Air so cold it cuts through my clothes It makes me feel so much more than dead I’ll be alright my friend
Now I know just what you meant When you said that it’s all in our heads The disease of our youth Still I wish I never met you and I wish you never died Cause then it wouldn’t hurt like it does tonight It’s a feeling I can’t lose And as the lights cast shadows around my frame I say the words and then I speak your name I’ll never stop loving you
CHORUS
Yes I know the colors won’t bring change Despite my growing love You know I will not play Play with your heart
5. “Sleeping Sideways” Written By: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: Macleod St., JH, WY
Lyrics: From over these mountaintops Above this city skyline I can see the world changing color Just like you said to get a real job Said boy quit chasing pipe dreams you’re just gonna end up nowhere
CHORUS No I don’t belong here No I don’t belong here I can’t be here I’m a loner No I don’t belong here No I don’t belong here Feels like it’s been forever (No I can’t be from here Yes I’m much too scared Must I live this way forever)
And on these golden streets I break the vow of silence Sing these songs loud for redemption Gotta find a way to make ends meet I’m tired of sleeping sideways On a couch you bought in 73
CHORUS
Oh but I got my strength Long before I had a name
6. “Orbit” Written by: Brock Jennings & Isaac Hayden Recorded @: The Lonely Mansion, San Diego, CA Drums: Brock Jennings
Lyrics: Over, Over again we march Along this road Paved by the one who fell before But did she say the words to strong Did she go
And I know it’s just my past And I know I’m strong enough to last
But I don’t know why I feel so alone And as the world passes me by I know I am not alone Just gotta get let go
And you don’t want me And you don’t want to try To let go And you won’t hold on And you won’t lie
7. “Falter” Written by: Isaac Hayden & Pete Stewart Recorded @: The Cave, Yosemite, CA
Lyrics: So We’ve gone for broke We let it all hang out In fancy cars And old dive Bars And Pictures of it all Have been plastered to your walls I’d hoped by now We’d have this figured out
CHORUS But I I ain’t got nothing to prove So let me give this all to you Before we break down and we Falter And Where Where could I go my sweet love If you were not here on the shore To pull me back in from the water Don’t Falter
So pull down them jeans We’ll hide in movie scenes And fairy tales Where no one fails Cause words are no more use When the words have no more truth So lay back down We’ll figure this thing out
8. “Throw a Line” Written By: Isaac Hayden Recorded @: Macleod St., JH, WY
Lyrics:
Don’t Cry, I’m standing right here Yeah I know you’re scared but I won’t leave you lonely Cause I would fly a billion miles On the back of this dead star to say It’s been a while my love
I can see the moon, from here But the air is getting cold, I fear I might not make it Home to tell ya what I never said That I been so silly ya I lost my head But I still love you
If light, can bend and race through time Tell me why can’t I don’t know if you’d hear me Should I, scream with all my lungs Past Milky Way and Mars I’d go, to show up at your
I can see the moon, from here But the air is getting cold, I fear I might not make it
Home to tell ya what I never said That I been so silly ya I lost my head And all those words musta packed a punch Call it what you will but I call it a hunch And everyone you loved has fallen to the sea But you had to hold her face so you dove in deep It’s time to go so come up for air I’ll throw you a line hold on we’ll get there And when we reach the shore gonna say what I feel Cause it’s time like this that make it all so real But I still love you
So life, screamed that it don’t care What plans we have or where we go She still might break us down
CHORUS
9. “Better off this Way” Written by: Isaac Hayden & Dale Hoyt Recorded @: The Porch, Nosara, Costa Rica
Lyrics: Walking tall in the grassy lands I Wish you were here to take my hand Yeah but Life goes and something’s change Feels like I’m stuck in motion like a White washed wave in the big blue ocean Sideways, for days and days, I gotta find a way to escape
Cause if I were to say That I’d never go away I would be lying and the
Stars come out yeah but the World keeps spinning round Cause something’s never change When the Stars burn out yeah well the World keeps spinning round Like nothing ever changed We’re better off this way
Walk the streets and I understand that the Times change but so does man well Searching for the great escape The heartbeat pushes the window Till we get fed-up and say oh no hell no Freedom, comes to us all, does anybody have the courage to fall
Cause if I were to say That I’d never go away Would I be lying and the
Stars come out yeah but the World keeps spinning round Cause something’s never change When the Stars burn out yeah well the World keeps spinning round Like nothing ever changed We’re better off this way (2)
I wanna be the first one to retrieve it Yeah I wanna be the first to go You say my heart may never need it Oh but I How could I know?
