Current mood: nauseated
Can we say "stomach bug"? All together now..."stomach bug". Yeah, that's right. We are on the now 5th day of puking, diarrhea, and general crankiness here. With our combined household of 4 children under the age of 4, this has been a real treat. Beginning Friday evening at 7pm, Clayton puked. Being a baby still, we discounted this as a non-issue, until he puked again, and again. And when Violet woke us up crying in a pool of her own vomit, we knew what we were in for. By 1am Lucian was puking, and Layla (as they do everything together) started about 10 minutes after.
As of today both Clayton and Violet are still suffering with whatever the hell disease with which these children were so cruely afflicted. If I have to scrub puke off of my living room floor one more time I may slit my own throat.
In addition, Lucian has begun snoring loud enough to wake the dead, and to cause his father and I (seriously sleep-deprived) to wish that we were. Although this would serve no purpose because dead or not, we would be woken up the next time he fell asleep. According to the ENT specialist that saw him today, he has some of the largest tonsils she has ever seen (that's my boy, always impressing people), and will be having his tonsils and adenoids removed on Jan 17th. Did I mention that he also has an ear infection and a cough that won't quit, and even if the snoring failed to wake the dead the persistent fucking coughing all night long would be sure to finish the job?
In summary, I have been sucked into the fifth dimension of hell with no conceivable escape. I need a long vacation in a room with padded walls and plenty of medication.
