Okay, okay!

This is what's Going On:  

Long Beach has for once in my lifetime has gathered AND ENGAGED PEOPLE from all walks of life and status to >  put energies together. 

YAY!

I've been waiting for this moment!

Those present at BOTH meetings (above) were:  EVAN KELLY of EPKvision.com (you had to be there, can't find this  on his site) and MAXIE VILTZ of www.VillageTreasuresOnline.com (most ppl call her "Max."  Do YOU know the difference?)  LIZA MITCHELL (Liza4lov@aol.com) a local curator with PhantomGalleriesLA.com attended parts of both meetings as did SUMAKO, KAI and IVY. 

SUJA LOWENTHAL was speaking when I arrived, she was giving credit to PHIL APPLEBY and LARRY BOTT (www.ArtwalkLB.com ) 

Long Beach Community Television & Media had presence: two producers, 2 production, 2 board members AND various other Doers and Shakers were there:  KATIE GIBSON from SEE JANE; WESIE.com and STEVE STEIN from www.EastVillageGraphics.com were at La Muse, PAT PARIS  MAREK who runs the artwalk was also present. 

And www.Long-Beach-Arts.org's LARRY NEWTON (also www.Ln-photos.com ).  LBArts is LB's oldest art organization.

CRAIG WATSON formerly of Charter Communications (where was Petke, or Ryan for that matter?!) and currently with www.ARTSLB.org has a VISION.  Remember VISIONS & VOICES?

THE ARTS COUNCIL IS LISTENING TO US!

The arts council is replacing high cost out-of-towners with LONG BEACH artists.
And that's what we WANTED!  A local non-profit to support its residents and creative community!

WATSON presented the new GLOBAL logo for Long Beach's month of October.  Since they look like guitar picks to me, I'm assuming we'll be hearing most excellent music!

3rd & ELM

Speaking of music, AARON* from csulb's KBEACH.org was present at www.LBCreative.org (I took photos during their RECAP - so accomodating to the later/returning crowd ).  Because of AARON, I will probably attend the SWEET RELIEF MUSCICIANS CONCERT at the RHYTHM LOUNGE September 3rd. TO TAKE PART ------------------> 

Stay tuned for www.LBCreative.org's Monthly Calendar and especially OCTOBER, (the Gobal Month) from www.ArtsLB.org  And, as soon as the links work, add yourself to the Artist Registry on that site.

Note:  LBArts is LB's oldest art org.
