GIANT insect fair this weekend!!!!

Saturday May 16th and Sunday May 17th the Los Angeles Natural History Museum is throwing their annual bug fair.  It's North America's largest and I can't help but spam it every year because it's AMAZING!!!!!

They have so much insect stuff to see, touch, buy, and EAT!  Yeah.... I know!  Like I said last year, "Whether you want to eat a barbecued cricket, see a 10" bird-eating tarantula, buy a collectors case full of preserved butterflies, pet the softest silk worms, bring in some creepy crawly you found at home for official identification, see a preying mantis egg case hatch, taste some fresh honey in 12 odd flavors, or just nerd-watch old men with magnifying loops searching for rare fruit fly specimens, this fair is BEST!

It's in the two main halls of the museum, and with the $9 to get in, you can see the whole museum (the rocks and minerals exhibit can't be beat but most like the enormous amount of taxidermy this museum has) or just camp out in front of the enclosed beehive and try to find the queen bee from 9:30-5"

I'm usually there both days and I hope to meet a few of you there!

See you there?!?!

I can't believe it's already that time again. I remember going last year at your prompting. It was fun. Hope to make it again. Thanks for the head's up.

This sounds fucking rad! I've gone to gore / horror fests all spring. I'm intrigued and it's something I haven't experienced yet. Cheers!

You should go!!! It's a lot of fun. Plus, you can see the rest of the museum (my favorite is their neverending gem and mineral hall, but rocks are cool to a science geek like me!).

wow, that is incredible. I'm horribly jealous that i am stranded in missouri far far away from such amazingness.

I'd actually consider going with you to this if I were down there. Not even the prospect of bbq'd crickets grosses me out. I hear they taste like popcorn.

There is NOTHING you could do to get me to eat one of those horrid creatures. As far as I'm concerned, they are simply stinky black widow food. *gags*

Not even if I defied etiquette by skipping double-dog and going straight to the triple-dog dare?

for some reason it would not let me send you an email, it kept erasing your name, so, I send here. I am coming to visit Los Angeles July 15th through like the 24th and I am coming with a friend of mine who makes Ceramic Corsets, want to get together and do a shoot to make up for all the time since the last one? My work is a lot better now, hehe.
