Current mood:  drained

Oh my god what a trip....!

Lets just say that even writing about this trip is mindnumbingly tiring ^^!

As you probably know by now, the first version of Global Gathering in Poland, has just finished. I was playing there. But to get there, was like jumping on the tongue in the sahara desert! So let me explain why... because it had nothing to do with poor organising, rather something to do with my need, to also play snooker.

I was supposed to go the both events. European Snooker champs, and global. Both of them unfortunately landed in the same week! So u must be able to imagine the havoc I caused for the organisers, to plan the transport. The snooker was held it Lublin, which was 480km away, by car from Poznan, the place for the tranceevent. And we found out that no flights went from Lublin to Poznan and back again... So I had to do this. BY CAR !!! OMG!

The snookertour was all the week before and after Global, meaning I had to play a morning snookermatch, to make the timetable fit. The organizers let me have the morning match, (thanks!) and I quickly won it 4-0 with decent but speedy play! My driver came and picked me up at the snookerplace. The driver being Mike Wind and his possé, (DJ Wind at the same event) ment that he had to close the event, since he had to pick me up.

So we sped away in car from the snookervenue, having 7 hours infront of us in car. We got there 20 minutes before my gig, so I was of course a bit stressed! We finally got me behind the stage, and the crowd was wild from the first moment I stepped up there. Normally the mood needs to build a bit, but the reaction here, no kidding, was the best reaction i've had yet. It just means i'm starting to gain acceptance I think. Really pumped crowd. So to all in the crowd : You guys really made it worthwhile, driving 7 hours in car, just to play one hour. You gave me the fastest hour of my life. It felt like 30 minutes only! I've never had anyone chant my name like that, so it was really wiked, thanks for getting me redfaced :*) !

I had a really fun night there, talking to Filo & Peri and Mark Eteson also, that man is the tits! His own words ! HAHA! He called us the tits! Anyway, we got well drunk, and enjoyed talking to some of the other djs, managers etc. etc.

My biggest slip-up the whole night, and it was a rather big one! I lost my f***in' passport! DOH! So I notified the eventmakers, and they quickly went on the case. I must have caused them stress for sure! Sorry! But as it couldn't be found that night, I had to just go back to the hotel, sleep, and await the drive back to Lublin.

After a small sleep in Poznan's best 5 star hotel, plus a breakfast to die for, especially when you're hungover ^^, Mike Wind and the co-travellers came to get me. Before driving into the morning sun, I was handed my passport. (?!?!) Someone had found it the other night, thanks anywho you were! So we took off from Poznan to drive me to Lublin, so I thought. What I didn't know untill later, was that they had other plans with my journey home! Since Mike has to close in the morning, his sleep had been non-existant, at the very least. So they drove me to a different city, Warsaw, for me to take the train back to Lublin, which would save them many hours in car, but only worsen mine.

Thinking that we'd make it, we actually missed the first train. Grabbed the second one, which meant I would maybe be late for my snookermatch at 19:00 that night... But, when I arrived in Lublin, I had some help from a nice polish VJ, who had also been at work @ Global Gathering, as a VJ. She got me a cap, told the driver in evil polish langual, to take me as fast as possible, to the snookervenue. I arrived SEVEN minutes before match start, and had to get changed also. There is a dresscode you know!

At exactly 18:59 and 37 seconds, I had closed my waistcoat and bowtie, and announced that I was ready to play! Must be a new world record! I lost that match 4-2, but i'm sure running for the cap a little earlier helped me abit. Getting the adrenaline pumping for the match. It also has to be said that I played the double european champion Alex Borg from Malta, so I can't be too unhappy, with my stressful preparing for this match. Then two frames is great!

But All in all a superhectic week in Poland, where I saw a bit of the whole country by car! Never Again! EEEhh AHH Ahhh! ;)

Superthanks to the organisers, the fans at the tent (u were fuckin' amazing!), the drivers that took their time to get me there, and last but not least, to the person that found my passport, so that I would NOT have to spend a bazillion hours in car back to Denmark... Thank heavens!

Till next gig, keep it trancy.
