As many of you know, we made a whirlwind, 1500 mile trip to Virginia (2 locations) and Myrtle Beach.  We went to Hard Rock Park, which was incredibly fun.  It is not very expensive ($50 for the day) unless you want to eat, which IS expensive, but then, it is an amusement park!  Led Zeppelin the ride truly truly rocks--the best coaster I've ever been on!  Their website has an interactive map with preview videos (www.hardrockpark.com

This blog, however, is focused on the crazy crap we saw on the backroads of Virginia and South Carolina while driving between destinations....

1. A real-life Mater, rust and all

2. A rather large horse statue, painted in red, white and blue, stars and stripes style, on a flat-bed trailer...and his private parts were painted RED!  lol

3. A "critter rest area" consisting of a fire hydrant surrounded by sand

4. Muckenfuss Garage

This is a partial list so far...when i remember more or find my list, I'll add to it.  Needless to say, we did a LOT of laughing!!

Incidentally, if you go to Myrtle Beach, the Beach Colony resort was wonderful.  I got a good rate on Orbitz.
