Wednesday, May 31, 2006

This our interview with Chicago Chord, check them out at http://www.myspace.com/chicagocord they are really nice people.

Fall of Eden - one of Chicago's premiere local hardcore/metal groups. Here you are:

CC: Introduce yourself and what you do in the band.

Russ: I'm Russ, I play bass and vocals in Fall of Eden.

CC: How did Fall of Eden get together?

Russ: We started back in 2002 when me and Taylor and Jason were all in highschool, and wanted to start playing songs. We did cover songs for a while, but eventually started recording and added my brother on drums and a third guitarist. And that's it in a nutshell.

CC: Sweet, are you guys planning on recording any sort of disc anytime soon?

Russ: We are almost done with our most recent demo with our third guitarist. Two songs are on Purevolume right now, there are a couple more getting completed.

CC: Wait - three guitarists? That's rad, how do you split the playing?

Russ: Yeah, three guitarists; Taylor and Steve are lead guitarists, they are usually having "dog fight" guitar lines where they are both running up and down in harmony with each other, it's really cool sounding and sometimes really confusing. Jason and I are taking over the chord work, making sure everything is held together.

CC: That's pretty sweet. Who influences you musically?

Russ: The whole band loves Iron Maiden, but we each listen to different stuff.

CC: Who are you a big fan of?

Russ: I love Fear Before the March of Flames.

CC: YES, they rock (Laughs)

Russ: (Laughs)

CC: Do you like a lot of Equal Vision groups?

Russ: Yeah! That's my all time favorite record label. I just got my pre-order of the Sounds of Animals Fighting, it's great.

CC: Ahh, you are awesome (Laughs) So that made me think of a question. If your band could tour with any other 5 bands, who would you choose?

Russ: Would they have to all be similar?

CC: Nope!

Russ: I think a tour with Fear Before, Converge, Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, and Sigur Ros.

CC: Amazing.

Russ: (Laughs) And odd.

CC: (Laughs) I would definitely go!

Russ: I would pay!

CC: Hell yeah. So what have you learned so far from being in a band?

Russ: (Laughs) Sad, but I learned how to buget and how a credit card works. Everything is so expensive, and now I'm in debt.. (Laughs)

CC: (Laughs) Nah, that's pretty cool. It's always good to know that stuff, man.. (Laughs)

Russ: (Laughs)

CC: Well, I really didn't prepare for this interview. So if you could be asked anything in an interview, what would it be?

Russ: You have asked everything I have ever been asked in on of these. I always wondered what people's favorite snack food is.. but I'm pretty much hungry all the time.

CC: (Laughs) So am I, to be honest.

Russ: (Laughs)

CC: Are you a fan of any of the summer concerts coming up?

Russ: I got my Warped, OzzFest, SOTU, and Unholy Alliance Tour ticket money all saved up.

CC: Seriously, you are awesome (Laughs)

Russ: (Laughs)

CC: This is the second interview I've done today, and honestly.. I can't think of anything more to ask. Makes me look like an amateur. (Laughs)

Russ: (Laughs) I usually give shitty answers, but I think you've given the best one so far, you let me get away with typos and shitty answers.

CC: (Laughs) Dude, I've gotten worse, trust me. I can actually read your answers (Laughs)

Russ: (Laughs)

CC: Well is there anything you would like to add or ask?

Russ: Naw!

CC: At all?

Russ: Well I'm hungry and my sister is waiting to go to lunch.. (Laughs)

CC: (Laughs) That's okay. Thanks for the interview

Russ: Thanks for doing it.

Thanks to Russ of Fall of Eden for enduring another unprepared interview. Best of luck!
