It's funny how many terms, while meant to make one feel better, just piss me off.  My favorite, "I guess it just wasn't meant to be"... what the hell does that mean? The most powerful force in all of life is, and always was, human choice... if something happens, chances are there was a human brain pulling the strings. To blame our follies on some mystic cosmic force is to deny ourselves both the responsibility over our actions and the inherent power we all have to mold and shape our existence. Especially when the term is used to describe a failed relationship... then it just becomes plain annoying. I'd like to find whatever irresponsible jack ass coined this little slice of "wisdom", and punch him right in the balls.... and when he says, "Why d'ya do that?"... I'm going to say, "I guess it was just meant to be".  Makes about as much sense as blaming the stars, and when we were born for our choices, instead of taking responsibility for our own lives.

My next favorite:  "Everything happens for a reason"... yeah; thanks, duh.

"There's other fish in the sea"... yeah, that's true, but have you seen them? The better catches are usually swimming the other way, and I don't feel like chasing a damn thing. And in most cases; unless your hook is baited with a c-note, don't even cast.

"You gotta get back on the horse"... WHAT?!... Look, if you see a friend all heartbroken over a failed relationship, do NOT advise him to just jump right into another shit storm! Chances are he's got some issues [probably the same issues that fucked up the last one]; and if you're a real friend, you'll help him get over his bullshit first before he ends up right back in this same pit of pain...again..., wondering why and what went wrong... and wouldn't you know it, there's some genius [probably single] saying, "You gotta get back on the horse buddy". This advise is the song of the douchebag.

That's it for now, but I'm sure there will be more soon.
