As a magician, cultural critique, and looking at some of the problems you describe.  I tend to look at vision and inspiriation to have people create the courage and drive to find new solutions..  To have the self-esteem and willful actions to act outside the box.  To play.

I really find this brillaint.  Even the idea of comfort dollars.  I will be getting the book.
