it’s here. the final show of this tour. Mercury Lounge in NY tomorrow night. as i sit in my hotel room here in NY i find myself able to have some perspective on this past month on the road.

To everyone who’s attended the performances:you guys blew my mind!!! thank you for taking this trip with me. to all the US fans ..were’ gonna get the hard copy of the Hunters Lullaby out for you soon.
To Billythe Kid:you killed it and made a lot of new friends.( look for her music this summer)
To David Ford:although our time was brief you are a true talent and good lad.
To Jared Paul: damn.... what can i say. you bring it. on stage and every minute you’re off. in all my years performing i have never been so inspired and charged to take the stage then after after watching Jared perform his spoken word pieces. man’s a bullet of knowledge, truth and beauty.
To Chantal,Kevin and Randy:an absolute honor.period!

we recorded and filmed 3 shows and i’m gonna get to mixing these soon. keep you posted on when the live stuff is available and by what means.

safe to say... this is just the beginning.

I was fortunate enough to jump on the tunnel bus from Windsor and catch the show at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit and I must say it's one of the better shows I've been to in some time! Both David Ford and Jared Paul were excellent additions to the night, and Jared's words and performance were quite inspiring. "The room is filled with walking libraries"...brilliant. And of course after a long 6 year gap between watching OLP perform in Sarnia at Bayfest, and watching you perform this past Saturday Raine, I can only say that time has agreed with your already marvelous talent. I'm glad to hear this is just the beginning, and I look forward to seeing the live footage, as well as any other future endeavours that might bring you back to the Windsor/Detroit area.

Cheers!

Emily

My girlfriend and I drove to London from Detroit to watch the show. It was one of the best live shows we have ever seen. To watch Raine get up on a speaker and get the crowd into it sent chills up my spine. We thought it would be better to see him in Canada, rather then in Detroit, people are nicer in Canada. I got to meet Jared and tell him that I wish more people could say what he said, but here in the states people don't want to listen. Thank you for the experience Raine, Jared, and Billy the Kid.(Thanks for the autograph).

Your show in Detroit was just amazing! I'm so happy you came to my neck of the woods. Thank you for an amazing night of music and thank you also for introducing me to David Ford.

Jared Paul was interesting too -- very gutsy to get up and do spoken word! Thank you for bringing him back up to do one tune with you.

Please, please come back soon!

Just the beginning indeed. During your performance at The Phoenix, someone turned to me and said, "some day I will be telling my friends at The Air Canada Centre, I saw this way back when at the Phucking Phoenix.
"

Now get to work on that Billy The Kid stuff - this summer still feels a long way away.

aww new york! i love new york! (my husband and I saw OLP there in 1995 at webster hall...still a highlight of my sheltered life..LOL!) have a great last show...but perhaps it could be a last show "for now"...a summer tour would be fantastic! (just putting it out there....)

The 2 shows we went to in Kitchener and London were 2 of the best concerts we have EVER been to (and we have been to A LOT) Your solo album is a work of art, and I hope you will do more in the future....
It was such a pleasure to meet both you and Chantal after the shows, thank you so much for taking the time!

Thank you so much for introducing us to Billy the Kid and Jared Paul. Amazing artists who's talents were apreicated and inspiring.

We will be waiting anxiously for a dvd or any live recording to help us relive this fantastic music!

Also, please let us know when/how we can get an mp3 of 21st century blues....my absolute favorite!

Take care and we'll see you next time....

I just wanted to say that I was at the show last night at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit and it was awesome! I have been to few concerts that were as moving or entertaining.
Keep us posted on the live shows you filmed - I'd love to have a CD or DVD copy of a show as good as that one!

I hope you go on tour again soon - I saw you in Windsor when you opened on Chantal's tour in 2006 and it was equally good.
I would really enjoy going to another concert for you, Chantal or OLP!

Saw your show in Kitchener. It was awesome! I love you and your music so much, and I got the demo cd from Billy the Kid. She rocks! Make her famous, haha. Anyways, I hope you keep doing what you are doing because I want more concerts to go to! I need them because I have to make up for not meeting you at the last one. My friend asked us to stay after but we just headed home, then he tells me he got to meet you and get a picture and all that good stuff, so I'm super pissed and jealous and I don't think I'll get over. Anyway, thank you!!! And congrats on the soon to be new baby.

Big Raine!

Hasn't even been a week, and it already feels like forever. I'm writing up a recap of tour and will send it your way as soon as it's done.

ALSO:
I'd like to thank everyone who posted on this blog for saying such nice things about the tour! It proves to me that the magical feeling i got watching Raine and the band, and Billy, and David, and all the great people in the crowd was REAL REAL REAL. In case any of you were wondering, i really have become a fan myself!! I bought a copy of Hunter's Lullabye on tour without telling Raine (he'd never let me buy it on my own; and i wanted to buy it with my OWN money and support!!), and although i'd heard it online, i love it now more than ever. I've become a fan of him as a person, as a writer of music/lyrics, and as a live performance artist.
DID YALL SEE THAT SET THAT THEY DID?!?! FIYYYYAAAAAA, BO BO BO!!!

Hey there! I just wanted to say, I hope you enjoyed your tour as much as I did! I was at the Victoria concert, and I was so lucky to have actually been able to be there - I was only in Canada for a few weeks visiting my brother, from Australia, and I was thrilled when I found out you were doing a concert while I was there. Thank you, for timing the tour just right (coincidence, I know, but still), for providing the highlight of my year to this point, and for just being you.
It's a longshot, but hopefully you'll make it to Australia one day :) Thanks again :)
