The CORE DJ'S RETREAT VI (RECAP)
If you missed the CORE Retreat, you are not taking you music career seriously. PERIOD! The 6th CORE DJ Retreat was held in Miami from March 15-18th. There the most influential DJ Coalition gathered to reacquaint with old friends while record labels were there to break new music. HipHopFriends was on hand to cover the events, cement their relations, acquire promo drops, recruit DJ for their broadcast HipHopFriendsOnline and distribute "Jump Drives".
The CORE DJ Coalition is the brainchild of Tony Neal from Milwaukee. He created the CORE DJs 4 years ago to preserve the craft of DJing and raise awareness that, without the DJ/ Radio connection, record labels can't get music to the people. The CORE members consist of the top record breakers, radio programmers, mix tape and street DJ in the country. They have even gone international with CORE Latino and have a model agency The CORE Models Worldwide.
During this year's well publicized retreat, major players like Bad Boy, Atlantic and Universal all held open bar listening suites parties. These events took place in Downtown Miami and along the infamous Ocean Drive. DJs got a chance to here new music from Fabulous, Bobby Valentino, Chingy and more. The after party @ SoBeLive included performances by Paul Wall, 8Ball MJG, B.O.B and Twista. The last night was capped off with an award presentation to honor DJ and radio personnel that made a difference in the music industry. New York native MIMS also made an appearance during the ceremony.
If you an artists, record label, manager or just a "Wannabe", don't miss the next retreat. Your music can't get hear with out the CORE behind you! For more information on the CORE DJs visit CORE DJs Website
