Hey everyone!

Thanks for the enormous support since we started back in 2003. We sold a ton of CDs last year at our shows in Denmark, Italy, and the USA not to mention digital downloads and CDs through CDBaby.com, iTunes, and other portals. Today Funkthis has fans in DK, Italy, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Israel, Spain, Japan, China, Argentina, Brazil, the UK, Estonia, Finland, Russia, the USA and Canada!

We are happy to announce that our 2nd CD release "Diggin'" is complete and available now. We are so excited about this new CD. We have been fortunate to have as guests or this CD Alex Acuña (Weather Report, Koinonia) and Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets, Jing Chi) among others.

It has been an incredible journey in the completion of this project. Band members have come and gone (and come back again!!). Musically, we pay homage to some of the many sounds and musicians who have inspired us over the years. A CD (or album as my forever old skool vinyl self still says to this day) is like a snapshot of where an artist is at whatever point in their career. The first candids from this work were taken almost 3 years ago. So much has changed with us since then.

One of the main differences is the sonic direction of this CD. We started out one place, we are ending up somewhere totally different from where we were expecting to be. I wish that anyone who appreciates what we do could be a fly on the wall through this process. This is how websites, blogging, MySpace, Facebook, and such have become great way for fans to gain access to their favorite artists. I am a great fan of liner notes on records (there I go again). Artist written liner notes (like the ones that will accompany our CD) are like personal memos sent to your intimate friends to perhaps add context to the experience of the music. I love that. I dare say no marketing technique or gimmick is stronger than that. What you see is what you get!

Thanks again and keep supporting indie music!

Chris
