I’ve no idea how to stop all of the bad things
The harsh realities
We all take quite seriously
And after that,
I’ve no idea how to recapture the youth
Recover and then return to foolproof
But that’s why
We’ve warm summer nights
A violet setting sky
Sweet cream treats, once in a while
A child’s perfect smile
To remind us all
Of the softer side of life
I wish I could remove all of this cruelty
Every budding tear
Each growing fear
Present to you, your former self
Filled with adolescent bravery
And the courage, maturity so envies
But that’s why
We’ve slow, hand-in-hand walks
Whispered, hand-in-hand talks
Whirl wind romance once in a while
A true love’s kiss, just in time
To remind us all
Of the softer side of life
Yes, the most important things we all have
Are these moments, slipping away with Father Time’s sand
In which you will find
The softer side of life…
