Hi, welcome to Fidget’s weekly Vanity Magazine Behind the Scenes Video Blog!

We’ve decided to blog as we go about the making of Fidget’s first video – it will be a blast!!!

BTW we will inviting Fidget Fans to come out to one of the shoots, there will be some live venue show shots and we need you in the crowd!  It will be in the afternoon on a weekday - location and date to be announced.

K, so yesterday we had our first wardrobe meeting.  There will be three looks for us in the video, so we need lots of clothes and stuff!  The first look is all of us will have a female icon we are replicating (to later be shed in favour of our own true selves!)  I (Nicole) will doing Marylyn Monroe – mostly just naked, and in one shot wearing a cool dress.  We have to look into what exactly the censorship rules are as far as potentially showing my bare butt, and me and just a guitar on a bed and so forth.  Possibly my butt will be blurred like on cops, you know, like it did a crime and is innocent until proven guilty.

Leah will be Betty Page – corset and no pants and so forth – if you don’t know what Betty Page looks like, just google the name and lots of pictures come up.  Some mean lady is yanking on the corset laces in the back and I come in and chase her off with a whip.  :D

Enter Elena, Cat Woman!  Meow.  She will be leaning on a cat statue drumming on her legs and on the floor.

Sydney is … wait for it…   Sailor Mars!!!  (Whee hee hee!)  Google that if you don’t know what we’re talking about :o)  She will look HOT!!!

We enter the room where Elissa is dressed like Jessica Simpson playing Daisy Duke.  Some photographer is trying to show her what she’s supposed to do with this ice cream cone, (yikes!) she throws the ice cream cone over her shoulder and we come in and dump the ice cream bucket on his head – then run off, laughing :D

(Yay, ice cream!)  Originally we were going to have an ice cream fight amongst ourselves, but that would be a wardrobe and make-up nightmare, eh?  Besides, this is more consistent with the plot.

Okay, so that’s part one of the wardrobe meeting, then there will be a shot where we are all wearing black and white, and playing black and white instruments, wearing red lipstick.  Now I have no idea what I’ll be wearing for tonight’s show in Niagara Falls, because my new black and white leopard print slut dress has been commandeered by Wardrobe.  This shot will be live in motion, superimposed upon - you guessed it - Vanity Magazine!  The magazines will be in a stack bundled on the sidewalk (with us rocking out on the cover) and also in the hands of you guys at the venue.

The third set of outfits we’re putting together is for our live show shoot – (come and be in it!!!) We’ll be all punky, and our look will be unified by the presence of stripes somewhere on all of our persons, like stockings on one of us, gloves on another.  I’ve got my striped top figured out, now I must go shopping for a cool black leather skirt, possibly with some chains or buckles.

Isn’t this fun?  Chris our totally awesome wardrobe designer is on the case making all necessary costumes and alterations and such (Sailor Mars!!!)  Our next wardrobe meeting is scheduled for a week this Tuesday – we should know the date and location of the live venue shoot by then so be sure to check in!

Love and punk,

Nicole

You in Niagara Falls already, Nicole? Sorry I can't make it today but hope to make it to one of those shoots as long as I still leave work by 4pm in central Mississauga. Bettie page passed away late '08. The bucket on the photographer's head will make him look like that guitarist, you know, BucketHead. Oh, actually he wears an upside down KFC one.
