Saturday 29th August
Terrorist and N&D presents... Night & G.A.Y alternative pride party... BURLESQUE PERFORMANCES by BAMBI LA BEAU / SENTOSA SPARKLE / LEIGH MON MERINGUE with live acts THE BLOW WAVES / ENGLISH ELECTRIC / GORDON TINNITUS / DJs OSCAR WILDSTYLE (Sex with Robots) / PASTA PAUL (Piccadilly Records) / KEV BEARD (Homo-Electric) / TIM HAMBLIN (Intergalactic FM) / AFI KHAN (Terrorist) / SAPNARELLA (Shoplifters / Murkage) from 8pm - very very late

We're hosting a very special alternative pride party in conjunction with the fine chaps behind the Terrorist club night.

Performing live are Australian superstars in waiting The Blow Waves. Fusing punk, disco and a touch of ‘cock rock’, the Blow Wave’s unique sound has been described as punchy, rocky disco-camp and full of raw attitude.

The Blow Waves are; Vocals – Matt Doll, Guitars – Jamie Wave, Keyboards – Byron St John, Bass – John Pants, and Drums – Jezz Beat. They first performed together at a music festival in South Australia in 2006 and they haven’t stopped since. After playing at the famous Sydney Mardi Gras in 2008, the band has been touring Australia, including performances at the Sydney Opera House and Brisbane Pride, building on their reputation for delivering inspiring live shows.

"Knife-edge guitars, psyched out keyboards and playful/dirty lyrics… their singer sports a bath robe, their bearded bassist Is clad in leather daddy cap, while their keyboardist camps it up in a football jersey. Clearly, this quartet aren’t what you’d call shy and retiring.” – Inpress Magazine

“The Blow Waves’ garish costumes, a bright clash between New Romantic and punk, ensure they’re hard to miss… The band has a strong queer fan base, but their cock rock sound is by no means restricted to a particular demographic.” – Rip It Up Magazine

Also performing live is GORDON TINNITUS. He has ruined many eardrums over the years including his own. Originally from Northern Ireland he has been resident of Schizophrenia, Relapse and Grunt Productions nights in Belfast. Currently located in Manchester he regularly punishes the crowd at Unjust with the likes of Current Value, the Panacea, Limewax and Tech Itch. His own music is influenced largely from labels such as Reflex, Warp and Deathchant but can be considered as melodic as it is dissonant.

ENGLISH ELECTRIC will also play a solo set. His music is inspired by Krautrock, Italo, Electro, Hip Hop and pop. The recently released Auto Beam EP received this impressive review:

"The title track features a crisp yet pulsing Italo groove, but it’s the epic Vangelis-style synth bluster of ‘Giorgio & Jim’ and ‘Monarch’ that make this an essential release." 4 / 5 DJ MAG

Adding a bit of glamour to the evening will be performances from 3 rising stars on the Burlesque scene; BAMBI LA BEAU, SENTOSA SPARKLE and LEIGH MON MERINGUE. They'll take to the stage with grace half way through the night.

Also on the bill are tip-top DJs from nights across town playing a mix of disco and electro. This includes OSCAR WILD STYLE (Sex With Robots), KEV BEARD (Homo-Electric), AFI KHAN (Terrorist), TIM HAMLIN and PASTA PAUL (Piccadilly Records).
