I'm a very basic piano player...I play it just like the guitar...very chord based. I am, however, very intentional as it relates to chord selection/progression and choice melody line notes. My right thumb and left pinky are almost always grounded on the root note of the chord and the bass note respectively.
Turn the Page (key of B)
(intro and verse chord progression...the note on bottom refers to the bass note on the left hand being expressed that is important to the feel of the progression...without it, it will not sound or feel right)
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
We're all stuck in different places
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
Too afraid to show our faces
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
Searching aimlessly for truth
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
We raise our voice demanding proof
Cm Cm/C
But on this lonely road
Cm/B F
I see that there's another way
Cm Cm/C
A chance to turn it all around
Cm/B F
Cause tomorrow is a brand new day
E F
And that's how I'm starting to see
E F E
That things aren't always what they seem
E F
Behind this anger
B B/A B/G B/F E
There's a lot of love inside me to set free
F E
There's a child of God in me
F E
We were blind, but now we see
F E
And all we had to do is believe
F
That's how we know…to
(Chorus: repeat 4 times)
B B/A B/G B/E B/F
Tuuuuuuuurn the page
Everybody's got a different story line
But more or less the same
Searching for a grace divine
We patronize our sister & brothers
Fathers and mothers
We try to save one another
Anything but focus on ourselves
But on this lonely road
I see that there's another way
A chance to turn it all around
Cause tomorrow is a brand new day
And that's how I'm starting to see
That things aren't always what they seem
Behind this anger
There's a lot of love inside me to set free
There's a child of God in me
We were blind, but now we see
And all we had to do is believe
That's how we know…to
