Last Saturday WBF organized their 2nd Beer Festival. A new location was choosen, the Hippodrome in Waregem which hosts every year the biggest horse-race of Belgium. I had the honour to serve the beers of my friend Jef from ’t Hofbrouwerijke. Other breweries were also presented such as Alvinne, De Struise Brouwers, Van Steenberghe, De Bie, Dupont...

During this event 9 Salamanzers (9l bottles) were sold to the highest bidder. The profit will be handed over to a charity project called Somival. Of course such a nice initiative I wanted to support with my own contribute. I bided 100 eur for the Hofnar version. I was sure that this sum should not carry untill the end. But on Sunday, when the sell closed I was suprized I was still the highest bidder and  this 9l bottle was finally mine. I’ll post a picture of the bottle as soon as I have it in my possession.

However the bad weather might be the cause of a lower flow of visitors this year, the Festival was a big success.

Anyway the set up was great and I’m already looking forward to next year.
