Annoucing a new album & international guitar competition!
NEW ALBUM
I'm very excited to tell everyone about a new project that I'm working on! I'll be producing (and starring on) a very unique guitar project entitled "String Theory." Superstar guitar players will collaborate with one another from the worlds of rock, blues, country, jazz/fusion, acoustic, and classical/flamenco genres. Some of the great guitar players from around the world will join together to blend styles and genres. The combinations will be unique in nature and will pair guitarists uniting their contrasting styles. The album, to be released by early Summer 2010, will be on Concord Records and Monster Music. I'll keep you updated as the project progresses.
NEW WEBSITE
Also, there will be a new website designated just for this project. It will begin in September and will be called SixStringTheory.com. The website will contain updates about the recording, all the details of the Guitar Competition (see below), and a blog for us to talk to one another. Check it out in September!
INTERNATIONAL GUITAR COMPETITION
Yamaha Guitars, Concord Records, Monster Cable, D'Addario Strings & myself will sponsor an International Guitar competition! There will be six overall winners, one in each of the following categories: Rock, Blues, Jazz/Fusion, Country, Acoustic, & Classical/Flamenco. The winner in each of these six categories will win a top-of-the-line Yamaha Electric or Acoustic Guitar. The top 3 winners will also receive Yamaha Guitar endorsements!
The Grand Prize winner will be chosen at the finale in a live contest in February, 2010 at the Broad stage in Santa Monica, CA and will be awarded the opportunity to record a track with other superstar guitarists on the "String Theory" album!! The Grand Prize winner will also receive a 4 year, fully paid tuition to Berklee School of Music!
There will also be a Yamaha clinic tour, a D'Addario string endorsement, a Monster Cable endorsement & other prizes as well for the Grand Prize winner. You'll have to be 16 or older to join and not already a professional guitarist, but other than that, all are welcome!
You'll find out all the details come September 1st, 2009 when the new website, SixStringTheory.com, goes live. This project is going to be so exciting and most of all, I'll get the opportunity to be more involved with my fans and other outstanding guitarists from around the world! Stay Tuned!!
