So, I know I had mentioned earlier in the summer that I was making a solo guitar record - which is true, it's maybe half done - but in the middle of doing that, I decided to make a jazz EP and release it before the end of the summer. I had a serious mental deadline about it, and I actually ended up releasing it the day before I had to go set up for the start of the school year, so mission accomplished. I like everything about it, even the imperfections.
My brother Brendan played the drums on "Glow Rosy" and "Manhattan (Deluxe)," and the superlative Mazz Swift contributed violin tracks for "Too Late?" and "Amalfi," via the magic of the internet - she recorded them at home and yousendited them to me to mix in. I played all the other instruments on the record; engineered, produced, mixed and mastered it. My go-to microphone broke after I put the solo on "Glow Rosy," so I got a new Snowball, which I totally endorse, even though they didn't pay me to. AHEM.
You can listen to "Glow Rosy" and "Amalfi" in the myspace player, "Too Late?" at
www.sarahlemieux.com, and "Manhattan (Deluxe)" on iLike or Garageband.
You can buy the record
here, through Amazon mp3 - it's a rolling digital release, so iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and Amie Street are following shortly.
Happy fall.
