Hey everybody!
just a little reminder that "UTOPIA" our new record will be released on August 28th via AFM Records.
the info below the album artwork is taken from Marcos Myspace, cos I was simply too busy (lazy?) to type it myself.....no seriously, Marco is very good at writing that stuff, so there was no point in writing an own version.
I have to thank Marco for the nice comments on my drumming and musical influences I brought to the table and I can only give them back.
I think his playing on the record (solo wise but also the the rhythm work) will turn many heads!
This of course also goes for the rest of us, from Bernys impressive vocal perfomance and arrangements, Harrys amazing sounds and leads to Robs tight and groovy bass tracks.
Drumming wise there is quite a lot going on and Im really happy with the way it turned out.
From typical metal double bass stuff (like "Underworld" or "Utopia") to more groovy stuff (like "Taste my blood") to even progressive and toto-esque moments (like parts of "For you I will die") I was given the opportuniy to express myself in a very musical way.

The second Bonus Song "Taste my Blood" is cool too coz I
wrote this song with Rob and it came out quite interesting coz besides
the cool hooks I played the guitar Solo with a Firelighter!!
mh...actually I played a lot of solos
with the lighter...it made weird sounds!! I loved it!!
About
the style of the Album: I think it..s the most extreme Album in AXXIS
History. Everything is on there...Straight ahead Melodic Rock Songs, A
very emotional Ballad, Progressiv Metal elements,Pop/Rock, Opera. The
whole Album covers a lot of emotions and vibes. And you can really tell
that we have a new amazing Drummer. Mr. Alex Landenburg added some
really unique elements to this Record which makes the whole picture
even more diverse!! I..m loving it!!
We still have some female
Voices on this Album and we..re all very happy with the result. This
time the great "Nathalie Mohl" is doing the female Backing vocals. She
is coming from the german musical scene and you can really hear that.
For
my part, I wanted to continue the way from "Doom Of Destiny" which
means, millions of multi layered Guitar tracks and nice crunchy rhythm
sounds but as mentioned in prior Blogs I wanted to go further this
time. So I experimented with tons of Effects and different Engl-Amps. I
used the "Super Shifter" from BOSS for example which sounds more like a
Keyboard than a guitar actually hahahaha but I loved it and it fit
perfect to some songs, especially to the German Song which is just
crazy anyway...
I..m much more happy with the guitar sound on this
Album. Everything you going to hear is pure "Tube -Tone" Nothing
digital or Modeling. The sound is very warm and crispy and I..m sure
you gonna love it as much as I do!!
In December we will be doing
a very special anniversary Show at the Zeche/Bochum in Germany where we
will celebrate 20 years of AXXIS History with loads of special
things!!!We will play many many songs AXXIS haven..t played for a long
time!!! so, see you all there!!!.........."
