Ok, Im not on myspace as much as I used to. Most of my time is taken by twitter. But here is a gripe I got. It's called cluttered myspace pages.

Look, I know most of us are NOT web page designers or computer graphic designers BUT you people need to have a little more common sense when it comes to designing your page without cluttering it with junk! I know we are in an age where we can download files and load web pages fast because broadband is so cheap, but that doesn't mean we can design our myspace pages with TONS of junk people see once and then overlook it in the future.

Do you really need all that glitter on your page? Do you really need this thousands of pictures of James Dean or Betty Paige in every imaginable pose possible just to describe your individuality? Do you really NEED those 15 flash music players with 30 songs each to describe your taste in music? So you REALLY need ALL those banners with quotes on your page? Do you really need ALL those videos on your page? Seriously do you REALLY NEED All that shit on your page? When was the last time you visited a page (Or even your own page for that matter) and used it to listen to the playlist? Yeah thats right! I didn't think so! Did you even THINK about how you were going to design your page?

Just in case some of you didn't know this, let me explain how a web page works. Just because you are not downloading a file directly like an MP3 file doesn't mean you're not downloading when you open a up a webpage. This just means you're not saving it on your computer. Every time you open up a webpage, the browser looks up the code and has to hunt down EVERY graphic, EVERY song, EVERY slide show and EVERY picture. It's pulls the pics from photobucket then is pulls music from where ever it's hosted, then it pulls the videos from youtube, then it pulls the slideshows from slide.com, so apart from them loading on the page it's going to every page pulling shit for your page. That's a whole bunch of processes going on at once, when ALL I REALLT WANTED TO DO WAS POST A DAMN COMMENT.....but NOOOOO I HAVE TO WAIT TILL YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE PAGE LOAD EVERY TIME!!!! You see where I am getting at?

Quite honestly (and this goes out to even some of my friends) I avoid your pages like the plague simply because I have to wait for a few minutes for the entire page to load BEFORE I can leave you a comment. That seriously is sad. Not only does it take LONG to download, it freezes my browser for a while too. Then with all them music players going off at the same time, there is a whole CLUSTERFUCK of shit going on, Im surprised the internet hasn't ended up in a funny farm!

There is a reason why myspace implemented the comment back button when someone leaves you a comment on your page, so that when you reply, you can avoid the clusterfuck of a page some of you have.

Here is the deal, next time when you design your page, test it out. If it takes longer than say 45 seconds to load (even that is way to much) You have too much SHIT on your page! You shouldn't have to scroll side ways to look at a page. Up and down should be enough. On some pages it feels like I'm on an easter hunt just to find the comments section!

And some of the backgrounds you have just plain SUCK! You cannot even read anything on the page! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You spent all that time pouring your soul for people to read yet, NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON can read it!

I'm not a web designer by any means but I know enough to make my page work. It's common sense that you don't use a black background with black words, I think we can all agree on that right? Well why the HELL would you use a background with TONS of colors and what you wrote looks like this:
el om o my o e. I op uo ike it! (Welcome to my page. I hope you like it!)

I hope this helps!

I had a friend who put four music players on her page back before MySpace had them (Project Playlist was where she got hers) because one music player wouldn't hold all the music she liked. For some reason she had to put every song she liked on her page somewhere. She was showing off her musical tastes to the guys she was interested in but did they care? Heck no. They were looking at her pictures, maybe her about me section. I didn't get it at all...but she still does it. Four music videos, three music players full of songs...her page takes for-freakin'-ever to load and you can't see a darn thing on it.
