End of the Year News
It's the end of another year, can you believe it? I'm sitting in a Stabucks in Decatur, Alabama listening to Bob Marley sing Three Little Birds:
"Don't worry about a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right. Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"
We've had some hopeful changes in 08 and there's some rough road ahead, but I'm starting to think that every little thing IS gonna be all right.
Duff Ferguson is hard at work on a new website for me and the band. The launch is imminent. It should be attractive, easy to use, and informative. I'm very excited because i'll be selling downloads from my own site for the first time. I'll still be on itunes, and the other international sites, but i'll offer very high quality 320kbs files for those who are sticklers for quality, as well as 192kbs files (itunes generally offers 128kbs) for the those who are fine with the standard fidelity.
I'll be doing some more blogging - I've already started a blog on mog.com - a music site, and if you'd like to check it out it is a http://mog.com/Grant_Langston. I did a review of the Lucinda Williams show at The Wiltern. You can read that at http://mog.com/Grant_Langston/blog/244099
Larry and I did a couple shows in Austin in mid November, including the ill-fated World Music Festival. (You can get the details of this newsmaking meltdown at http://mog.com/Grant_Langston/blog/240453) We plan on doing more shows in Austin in 2009.
The new record is chugging along...with only two more songs to track. At this point the song list looks like:
Stand Up Man Pretend You Love Me Tonight 30 Days Burt Reynolds Movie Brawl Broken Clocks Shiner Bock and Vicoden The Only Me Not Another Song about California The King of Sunset Hills Damn Good Day Call Your Bluff
and a couple more for good measure.
We would really love to see you out at one of these shows....
THANKS for your continued support of independent music!
