Well it only took two years, plus a few months, but THE SHAMING OF THE TRUE, my new CD is out and early response has been very good. It's on iTunes and the round plastic version is available fro cdbaby.com. There will be release party at Shank Hall on Sat. may 31rst, featuring my band, The Subcontinentals. I will have my good friend Robin Pluer as a special guest and the opening set will be by The Calamaties, a raucous unit with Sam Sieger on drums. As for the recording, it's a mish-mash of tunes from all phases of my career, with some of my recent songwriting collaborations with Michael Feldman featured prominently. It was released almost 20 years to the day after the Warner Brothers debut of my band, Semi-Twang. It features Phil Lee on drums and Steve Allen on guitars and keys. My brother Mike plays and sings and it features guest performances from Rosie Flores and Frogwater. The first appearance of Sam, my 17 year old son, on Nashville 2-Pt Tragedy is a special treat. Phil Clark, the sax player form my first band, Starboys, from way back in Kenosha, kicks the record off in fine fashion. He lives in Nova Scotia now, so I don't get to see him often. All in all, it was a blast to make and it's chock full of songs I'm quite proud of. I hope you ennjoy it as much as I did making it.
