The Little Things ~

I glanced up at the calendar and here we are again, the last day of
February… amazing how life rolls on and I've been observing other
people around me and how they let the little things affect them and
almost take over their lives at times.
I watch as some allow others to say and do things that upset them
or affect them in ways that turn their lives upside down while others
have learned to balance their lives so that what others say and
do don't affect them in ways that make bigger waves in their lives
that can "upset their boat." They handle situations as they come and
know that, "come what may," they have faith that everything will
be all right, regardless of how it may look right now. Right now is all
we can handle, right now, and understanding that, is a solid rock to
what follows later on in our lives.
I also notice the little things that matter in life. The smiles that truly
affect someones moment in their day, manners, helping someone or
being pleasant, saying "hello, how are you" and taking the time to
listen when they need you to listen. It's amazing how doing little things
like that can grow into bigger things and make a positive ripple. We
can choose how we're going to be a part of the affect everyday and
if we're going to continue to allow things to keep going the same way
they've been going or make a change.
The little things are amazing. A childs laughter, a hug, the sun coming
through the clouds after a long winters day, watching the birds at a
feeder, feeling the wind on your face, a glass of water, being online
right now and being able to read this… the little things that some may
feel aren't so little at all, but some may take for granted, but together
we can all make a difference with our positive thinking and making
the little things into big miracles perhaps, even little miracles… that's
ok, miracles are miracles and little things are important too.
Affirmation: Today I will notice more of the little things around me
and be grateful for all the little things in my life. I may even grab a
pen and paper and just write down a list of "little things" in my life
I'm very grateful for and sit and say "thank you!"
