Seeds of Dreams ~

I went into the store with a mission in my mind of buying at least ten
to twenty packs of flower and vegetable seed packs. Just the smaller
ones, so I could give them out to some children.
I'd been going to some wonderful gatherings recently, meeting new
people and learning so much more about some beliefs and religions
I hadn't even known about before. They were a very Inter-Faith
group, which was right up my alley. It felt good being around others
that believed the same as me and I felt comfortable being around
them. At each of their meetings they had a special time just for the
children. I was very impressed at how well behaved the children
were and how they were eager to participate and say their prayers
outloud for everyone. All of the children were very bright and filled
with joy, always running up to me when they saw me saying hello.
It was a wonderful feeling.
One sunny morning when I looked out the window and noticed our
daffodils up and blooming, it brought to mind something I wanted to
do for those children. As the beginning of my story started, I could
see in my mind what I wanted to do. I would go to a store and buy
some seed packs, some flowers and some vegetables, so they could
choose which ones they wanted and I would brings some cups and
a bag of dirt with me and a spade. I wanted to sit with them and
let them choose their seed packs and with them I wanted to help
them plant a cup or two of those seeds, showing them how to put
them in the dirt, how to water them and then put them in a sunny
place. I then wanted to tell them a story about faith.
Each time we plant a seed in the dirt, like they did in the cups, we
must water it, give it sunlight, nurture it and keep it safe from
harmful things. We must have faith… the belief that those little
seeds will soon one day pop up out of the dirt and become a flower
or a plant and if it was a vegetable seed, in time, they will have
vegetables on those plants. We must believe and have faith that
this "WILL" happen, even if we don't see it, not just yet. That's
what faith is, believing in what we cannot see, but that which we
trust will come about.
It's the same in our lives. When we have dreams and thoughts of
things we want to do in our lives, perhaps for a child they want to
grow up and help the world be a better place, helping those that
are hungry and have no food. Maybe they would like to teach
others how to plant and grow food where they live, to help feed
hungry people. They need to plant that "thought seed" in their
hearts and believe and have faith that it can and will happen one
day if they truly want it too. They don't even have to wait until
they grow up to help the world, they can start right now!
What a wonderful thought, because children are so important to
us and for our future and if they don't learn from us, who will they
learn from? Teaching through stories about faith, dreams, helping
the world and all people of this world is one of the best ways
children learn, but also by example and seeing the adults and others
around them helping others, sharing, believing and having faith too.
Perhaps you know a child or children, in your life or in your community
that needs to know more about faith and believing in not just what
they see or hear around them, but what can be for our world. Sometimes we just need to point out all the beautiful things, the blessings and positive things all around us and well, from what I've experienced with children, they see this already, they see through the eyes of children and perhaps "they" are the ones that have much to teach "us" about faith.
Affirmation: Today is a great day to begin to help others and to help
a child learn about planting seeds of faith and dreams and planting seeds to help feed our world! Today or this week or even this month, I will start by buying some seeds and giving them to someone and passing on the gift of faith, dreams, helping our planet feed itself and learning to share many gifts we all can give to one another. I will remember to count my many blessings and pass it on.~
Remember, Children learn what they live!!~
