Porter Belly's Announces Their 10th Anniversary
Brighton, MA – March 10, 2009 – Porter Belly's kicks off its 10th year in business with a week-long celebration leading up to St. Patrick's Day. Porter Belly's was recently voted "2008 Best Irish Pub in Boston" by Citysearch, and for good reason. Over the past 10 years they have been a top destination for people looking for a great night out in Boston. They are looking forward to more great times, with wonderful new live music, and some exciting new additions to their menu.
Porter Belly's is located at 338 Washington Street in Brighton Center. Each night is 21+ and there is never a cover. There will also be food and beer specials all week long. Check their website for details www.porterbellyspub.com
The fun begins on Tuesday, March 10th with Rock Band and Wii Sports competitions. Sign up at 9:30pm and the games begin at 10.
On Wednesday, March 11th there is an "Open Mic Competition" with the winner taking home $100 and the two runners up taking $50 a piece. In addition, anyone who comes to play will get 1/2 off beer or wine. The competition takes place from 10pm - 12:30.
On Thursday, March 12th the "I'll Drink To That!" New Music Series Continues presented by EC Promotions. This night will feature original Roots/Raggae/Funk from iLa Mawana. Opening the show at 9pm will be James Houlahan playing his exciting brand of original Acoustic Folk/Rock tunes.
On Friday, March 13th Rising Tribe will play a mix of original and cover tunes with opener The Blow Up Dads. The music starts at 9:30.
Saturday, March 14th will be Grayspot playing all of your favorite Top 40 Rock, Alternative, and Classics. Show starts at 10pm.
Sunday Night, March 15th will be Krazy Karaoke with Dave. He will be taking the top singers from Feb. 22, March 1, and March 8 to compete for a grand prize.
On Monday, March 16th Tori Pyne will perform with special guests. Their Monday night residency at Porter Belly's has helped bring exciting original Rock back to Brighton Center. Tori Pyne is the sound of master class players distilling what they know and boldly delivering it to a new place. This show starts at 10pm.
Porter Belly's is quickly making a name for itself as the hottest new music venue on this side of the river. With some of Boston's best young artists such as the Soap Stars and Felonious Mayhem, established acts such as the Allen Devine Group and The Allstonians, and an occasional touring act on its way through town, there's always something different at Porter Belly's. Their intimate, rustic atmosphere creates a one of a kind experience for the music lover as well as the musicians.
