I am offering a 4 month internship based in my constituency office in Torquay.
This internship will provide the successful candidate with a comprehensive knowledge of the various activities of an MPs' constituency office, experience of a busy and challenging working environment and a unique opportunity to develop highly marketable skills in a range of research/communication techniques. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of activities including liaising with the press, constituency based research and casework. There will also be the potential to assist the MP with campaigning. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Must be comfortable dealing with the general public on the phone and in person. A willingness to learn and the ability to work independently are also vital. Sympathy with and awareness of Lib Dem aims and views would be preferred. Most importantly, candidates will have a dedication to the needs of local people.
The position is a full-time temporary post running for four months from December 09 to March 2010.
