Okay, so I know I said I would keep this thing updated and I've been slacking. But I promise I will do my best to post something at least weekly.

Since we finished the mix I've been pretty busy working on the website which will launch at www.scottlink.net in the next few days. Be sure to check that out. I've also been working on the plan for getting this thing out there with my attorney Peter Irvine www.peterirvinelaw.com . Peter is pretty excited about the record and we are planning to pitch this to about nine labels some big some small and see if we can't con someone into getting involved. While he is busy with that I am working on putting a touring band together and booking gigs. Hopefully we will be back out on the Northeast circuit very soon. Keep checking!!

I enjoy playing but my favorite part of the whole thing once the writing is done is the travel. I love going to new places and then having the feeling that I can't wait to get back to them and I love bars so it's a perfect combination. Gigging is a real double edged sword so you try to find the parts you really like and focus on them rather than get bogged down in the stuff that is a drag and there is a lot of that.

I'm excited about the band. I'm doing something a bit different than we did with the Long Haul Truckers. I'm adding keyboards and a richer guitar sound, the idea being to try to stay as close to the recorded product as we can with the touring band. Key boardist Joe Boucher also has the ability to add a third guitar or accent instrument which will help with that a lot and I'm looking forward to having that element to work with. Those of you in the Portland area look for a show towards the end of October.
