It was a roller coaster of emotions for T-Roy Thomas at Ultimate Championship Wrestling's Thrash N Bash 2008.

First came the lows. Thomas lost his UCW International Championship to Tony Dreamer while sustain some serious damage to his right knee. Then, during the Rumble main, Thomas drew the third entry spot — hardly likable by any stretch of the imagination.

But after the storm passed, the sunshine came. Thomas beat the odds and managed to low-bridge "Supersonic" Alex Cross over the top rope to win the Rumble, setting him on a collision course with World Heavyweight Champion "Submission Technician" Ryan Pyles at the main event of the biggest show in UCW history, March Madness X.

Thomas – and everybody in UCW for that matter – was shocked to see Kevin K, Thomas's former tag-team partner who had been forced into retirement, make an unexpected return late in the Rumble. The two looked like they had never lost a step, as they went about exacting revenge on Cross, whose underhanded tactics had caused Kevin K's retirement back in May at D-Day 2007. But a brief moment of disagreement allowed Cross to eliminate Kevin K, leaving it down to just Supersonic and "The Baddest Boy from the Bay."

Cross' Z-Force counterpart LaRizza decided to get involved and try to make up for an earlier mistake by trying to strike up conversation with Thomas. But Thomas's manager Cordell Williams, eliminated from the Rumble himself, fixed that problem by grabbing LaRizza off the apron and carrying her to the back, allowing Thomas to counter a charging Cross by pulling down the top and sending Cross flying out.

Still the Champ: For his part, Pyles made himself the other half of the March Madness main event by holding onto the World Heavyweight Champioship in a three-way matchup he hadn't been planning on.

The Submission Technician was scheduled to square off against rapidly-rising rookie El Cholo, who had earned the honor by best "The Knockout" Dave Rockwell and Cross in a three-way match at Souled Out 2007. However, a sickening backstage attack left El Cholo unable to wrestle that night. Hoss Roberts, a member of the UCW Board of Directors selected to fill in on administrative duties due to absence of Chairman "The Big Poppa" Scarface, decided to replace El Cholo with the other two members of the three-way match, Rockwell and Cross.

The three men battled back-and-forth until Cross and LaRizza decided to try to use their numbers advantage, which wound up backfiring horribly. As Cross held Pyles, LaRizza attempted one of her trademarked slaps. However, Pyles managed to move out of the way, which caused LaRizza to slap Cross instead, who staggered backwards toward a waiting Rockwell, who delivered what could be considered the most devastating 3 Count Knockout of his championship career.

The always-thinking Pyles took advantage of Cross being 3 Count Knocked Out and Rockwell's preoccupation with Supersonic by rolling up The Knockout to secure the win.

Dreamer has Gold Again: The decision by Roberts to put Cross and Rockwell in title match didn't settle well with everybody.

A clearly upset Tony Dreamer stormed to the ring, arguing that he had never gotten a title match, despite never losing to Pyles back at Trial By Fire 2007 in September. He then mocked the speech patterns of Hoss to try and gouge the director into giving him what he wanted. Roberts obliged to Dreamer's demand of a "title match," but gave him an International Title match against Thomas rather than another chance at Pyles.

Although Dreamer blew off Thomas, referring to the International Championship as a "junior title," a comment by T-Roy for the Hall of Famer to "put his money where his mouth is" gave Dreamer all the motivation he needed, as he rapidly went to work on Thomas, focusing attacks on a right knee that Dreamer got a ringpost shot in on early in the match.

But Thomas held his own, surviving Dreamer's initial onslaught and getting in offense of his own. However, after a missed corner attack caused Thomas to smash the injured knee into a turnbuckle, the legend took advantage of being able to hook his feet on the middle ropes for leverage on a pinfall outside the line of sight of referee Joshua Jenkins.

This is Dreamer's second time as UCW International Champion, his first title reign coming back in 1999. It also marks Dreamer's fifth run with some sort of championship gold in UCW, which puts him two title reigns ahead of his nearest competition, Stingray.

Walters gets into the win column: It took a while, but TJ Walters finally broke into the win column.

After expression his frustration at having to face much more experienced opponents by throwing around chairs and tables backstage, Roberts decided to give Walters a chance to prove he belonged in UCW by booking him against another hard-luck wrestler, The Mark.

Although the Linda native attempted to channel some hardcore, straight-edge energy by adopting the persona of "CM Mark," Walters essentially demolished him, beginning the end by countering an attempted Go To Sleep with a devastating Final Cut, then delivering a kick to the head as a finishing touch.

Canada's got some problems: Hoss Roberts attempted to fix the dilemma Captain Canada was facing by signing the mysterious man who had brutally attacked Canada at the end of Souled Out to a UCW contract. But it may have just made things worse.

Roberts gave Canada his opportunity for revenge by putting the newly-signed Scipha in a match against the superhero to start the event off. And it looked as though Canada got his revenge, but countering a choke hold into a surprise pinfall to get the win.

Scipha had other plans, though, as he once again went after a wounded Canada after the bell, delivering another sitout chokeslam and even going after the Calgary Kid with a big boot to the face.

Later on, Scipha claimed he was in UCW to complete a "mission" to end Captain Canada's career. If Scipha is working on his own still remains unclear.
